The Ahalia Engineering Scholarship Test was conducted at ASET on 9th April successfully with around 150 students participating. There were students from Palakkad, Thrissur & Malappuram districts. While students were writing the examinations, we conducted classes of parents. Mr.Rajithan addressed the parents and stressed the importance of Engineering education and facilities Ahalia provided for the students. Our faculties also interacted with parents and cleared their doubts.ASET ran all the buses on the day to bring the students from different boarding points and dropped them in the evening. Also parents were given a campus tour and provided light refreshment.
ASET YOGA CLUB was inaugurated by T R Santhosh Kumar (Yoga Instructor, Palakkad) at Ahalia School of Engineering & Technology, organised by the Department of Physical Education.Mr.VivekGopi, Asst. prof. , Mechanical Engineering deliveredthe Welcome Address. Chief guest emphasized the need of yoga in the present day and also shared his experiences with students. First year student Haritha H Das demonstrated few AASANAS on Yoga which was the highlight of theprogramme. Dr. Prof.P K Venkatachalam’s vote (S&H Dept and Events Co-ordinator ASET) proposed the vote of thanks.
Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology celebrated its First Annual day on 18th March, 2016 by 9.30 a.m. in the college campus premises. Mr. G. Sundaravadivel, Head/ Training Department, FCRI, Pallakad was the Chief Guest for the occasion. The Programme started with a prayer song. Dr. Jino John, Principal – in charge, presented the annual report of the college for the academic year 2015-16. Mr.G. Sundaravadivel, in his special address highlighted the importance of imbibing values from personalities that they come across. He distributed award for the students who excelled in academic and co-curricular activities. The faculty and students recorded their memories, events and their memorable experiences of their four year stay in the campus. Mr. Lijith Babu, IV, EEE, shared his experience in the hostel, it was wonderful and life learning experience. The memento was given to all the outgoing students. Dr. P.K.Venkatachalam, proposed the vote of thanks and programme ended with high tea.
On 11th march 2016, Electronics and Communication Engineering department of Ahalia school of engineering and technology, Palakkad in association with IETE Palakkad organized a seminar “ALL ABOUT GATE EXAM”, to create awareness about the GATE exam among the students. Mr. A.Saravana Kumaran Director, GATE forum, Coimbatore, was the resource person of session. Mr. Haridas C.K, founder chairman, IETE Palakkad delivered a special address to students about the competitive exams. The speaker briefed about the numerous opportunities like BSNL, ONGC, BAARC, HAL, NTPC and various other examinations and also gave a detailed overview of the features of GATE examination. He educated the students about the important dates related to exam such as the starting date for the registration of the GATE exam and last date of submission of application. An idea of cut off marks for clearing the GATE exam was also discussed.The students from ECE and EEE department attended the session.
The department of computer science Engineering in Ahalia school of engineering and technology organized a two days’ workshop on “PYTHON” as a part of association (NEOPHYTES) event on 8th & 9th March 2016.The chief guest was Mr.Prithivi Raj, Technical lead, ATS,Coimbatore. It was organized for S8 & S4 students to explore the power and simplicity of python language. This workshop was appreciated by the all students, as they were able to add another programming language in their technical skill set. The trainer Mr.Prithivi Raj has given mix of theory and practical knowledge. He explained about control flows, showed some examples and asked participants to solve some problems. Later he explained about user defined functions,inbuilt functions, OOP’s concepts and GUI design. Entire workshop was very interactive with lots of interesting questions from participants and speaker explanation about them. Susmitha.U(S6 CSE) delivered the welcome address and Prof.RameshKumar.R,HOD of computer Science, felicitated the function. The department of Computer Science and Engineering in Ahalia school of engineering and technology organized a seminar on BIG DATA as a part of association (neophytes) event on 5th March 2016. The chief guest was Mr. M SurendraBabu , Technical lead, HCL. The chief guest gave a brief introduction on Big Data and on Hadoop. The first session mainly emphasized the concept of Big Data. He talked on the relevance of Big data in the current scenario. Then the limitations of the currently used technologies were discussed. Further, how Big Data overcomes the latter was told. Later on, in the second session the focus was mainly on the emerging areaHadoop. A detailed explanation on Hadoopecosysytem and its architecture were given. The working of Hadoop was also discuused. The session was concluded with a brief talk on HDFS. A one day seminar on “Cyber Security” was organised on 23rd February 2016, Tuesday, from 10a.m. to 3.45p.m in association with Computer Society of India. The session was led by Mr.Sanoop R, L2 support for REDHAT CCNA and CEH at Maze net Solutions Palakkad. Ms.Akhila S. Student Member CSI proposed the welcome address. The first technical session began at 10.30 a.m. The main objective of the seminar is to discuss the emerging techniques in cyber security and ethical hacking. Governments, military, corporations and other business collect, process and store a great deal of confidential information on computers and transmit data across networks. With the growing volume of cyber-attacks ongoing attention is required to protect our data. The session started from the computer networks basics. He interacted with the students and made them to active participation throughout the session.
In view of National Science Day celebrations, Nature Club of ASET & Dept. of Science and Humanities organized PRAKRITHI-2016 on 27th February 2016. Over the course of the day, hundreds more saw the exhibition as high school and college students from the different institutions of Ahalia visited ASET. They participated in different events designed to impart scientific knowledge and about preserving nature. Students were provided opportunities to study and admire the environment and thereby understand the need to conserve nature's bounty.The Chief Guest on the occasion was Dr.Ajesh Pillai, Sr.Physician, Manager-Kairali Herbal Cures (P) Ltd. The chief guest spoke about the importance of Pranayama, science and environment education and about the need to adopt healthy practices in one’s life. Director of ASET, Dr.P.Sankarankutty presided over the function. In his presidential address, Principal-in -charge, Dr.Jino John praised the management and the faculties for their efforts to create awareness about science & environment. Earlier Prof.Binoy Balan, HOD, S & H Dept. welcomed the guests and apprised the work of the students. A vote of thanks was presented by Mr. Thannasi ,AP, S & H, ASET.
The Second Annual Sports Meet of Ahalia School of Engineering & Technology was held on 20/02/2016 in the college ground. The Sports Day started off with a prayer song followed by the welcome address by Adams of S8 EEE.The sports day began withan energetic march by the students of four houses –Red, Green, Blue& Yellow. The chief guest of the day was Sri.V S Muhammed Kassim, DYSP, Palakkad, took the salute and then hoisted the college flag. To enliven the sportsevent, the college torch was lit by Dr. Jino Jhon, Principal in-charge ASETand the oath was taken by Ramya Raj S8 CSE. The meet was then officially declared open.
A plethora of sports events took place in which the students participated in the true spirit of sportsmanship. Red house and Green house bagged the overall championship. Individual champions of the meet are Gopi Krishnan B from S1 ME,Sidharth C from S4 ME and Ramya Raj from S8 CSE.
The Department of ECE Association ERFINDERS in association with Coreel Technologies Bangalore organized a Two day workshop on Architecture Design and Modelling using Xilinx on 24rd & 25th FEBRUARY,2016. The workshop session was begun with Presidential address by Dr.P. Sankarankutty, Director. In his speech he highlighted that this kind of workshop will transform the students skills to the level of industry expectation. The hands on training were given by Mr.Bikash R P, Application Engineer, and University Program Team COREEL TECHNOLOGIES Bangalore.s. The following areas were discussed with implementation. Xilinx block sets and system modelling for hardwares , Concepts of system modeling using Xilinx. FPGA implementation. The students were given opportunity to gain the practical exposures on Xilinx softwar and implementation on FPGA boards. Dr. V.Balamurugan HOD of ECE department proposed the vote of thanks. The Association of Royal Mechanical Engineering (ARME) conducted a session on All about Gate on 10th February 2016. The primary objective of the session was to provide an exposure for 3rd year mechanical engineering students about the infinite possibilities of GATE exam, for doing master degree as well as for jobs. Mr. LIJU , co-founder, Focus gate academy took up the session. The session comprised of introduction to the gate exam and the information regarding the valuation of the same. The session was very informative and the feedback from the students was excellent.
A two day National Level Training Programme on Solar Energy was held organized by the Departent of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology, in association with Ahalia Alternate Energy Pvt. Ltd., Palakkad. Participants from various industries, educational institutions and entrepreneurs were present for the event. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. P. Sankarankutty, Director, ASET, felicitated by Dr. Krishna Kumar Kishor, Assistant Director – Academics, AHHKV, Dr. Sasi KK, Project Director, AAEPL and Dr. Jino John Principal I/c, ASET. The first session was on the Topic Solar Radiation – Science and Geometry, handled by Dr. Sasi KK, Proect Director, AAEPL. He gave an outline about the solar energy, solar panels and a detailed concept of global radiation. Its irradiance, irradiation and also the methods for finding it. He also talked about changing the direction of photovoltaic (PV) panel every month with respect to the direction of the sun rays. There was also a talk about “Air mass”. PV system design was thoroughly explained. In the design he described about BR resources, OFF grid, Net Metering and energy schemes and systems, its design strategy, panel sizing, specification of PV module, battery ratings, inverters, selection of controllers. With variation of voltage according to IR characteristics, connections of 8 solar panels using controllers, battery and inverters connected to load are adjusted. A field visit was arranged to the 1MW solar power plant installed at KSEB Kanjikode. The participants were accompanied by the faculty and student representatives from ASET and was dispersed by 4.00pm.

It belongs to Ahalia Health, Heritage & Knowledge Village (AHHKV) at Palakkad, in the state of Kerala, India.
AHHKV is an integrated campus of a group of specialty hospitals, Ahalia Heritage Centre, an Ayurvedic Medicine Manufacturing Unit
(AMMU) and another group of institutions of higher education. The vast and beautiful campus is spread over 1500 acres of land that
offers a perfect blend of nature and technology. AAEPL has a mandate to develop all the energy requirements of the campus from natural
and renewable resources
like wind, solar and biomass – all these three are abundantly available in the campus. Installation of 8.4 MW of grid
connected wind turbine generators is currently going on in the campus.This wind form has a few generators to supply electricity to
the public electricity grid, besides one used for captive power generation. AAEPL has expertise in wind resource assessment,
wind power development, solar PV system design etc. AMMU boards a boiler run completely on biomass. AAEPL has developed roof top
SPV plant for its Ayurveda clinic and it is used in off-grid mode. AAEPL has also initiated a project of Wind Power Management which involves Hybrid Electric vehicles and Electric Cooking ranges to replace oil and cooking gas with available wind power so that the carbon foot print of AHHKV will be
negligibly small. It also envisages development of a smart campus using ICT that will help maximum utilization of green energy

The department of Electronics &Communication organizeda Seminar Research Opportunities and Challenges of Image Processing on 1stJanuary 2016at Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology. The session was handledby Dr. V.Balamurugan , Professor & Head, Department Of ECE. In this presentation the following six modules were covered, it includes Objectives, proposed techniques ,Research Opportunities, Challenges and applications of Image Processing.In this seminar various research opportunities in image processing was elaborated and Several Challenges were also discussed. The queries raised by the participants were retorted. The members of faculty of ECE and EEE department have attended.
Inter House Football championship-2015 was conducted at Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology by the Department of Physical Education. It was officially inaugurated by Dr. Krishna K. Kishor, Asst. Director-Academics and Dr. K. Sankarankutty, Director-ASET. Green House A team bagged the trophy .The best player of the tournament was Adarsh, of S5-ME.
Ahaila School of Engineering and Technology organized a two day faculty development programme on MATLAB Training. The session was handled by Mr.Chandrashekar, Application Engineer Coreel Technologies, Bangalore. In the first session he discussed the fundamentals of MATLAB & SIMULINK. In the technical session, he gave hands on training on the topics like Signal & Image Processing, Communication Systems, Control Systems, Neural networks , Fuzzy Systems, Script based programming techniques using MATLAB and code generator. The FDP was very useful for the project guidance. Dr.V.Balamurugan proposed the vote of thanks.

An awareness class on Cyber-crimes was conducted at Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology Seminar Hall. The session was led by Mr. Santhosh P.K (ASI, Palakkad Cyber Cell).The students of first semester of Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology attended the session. In a very informative and interactive session, the students cleared their doubts about cyber security.
A two day national techfest ZAAGA 2K15 was organized by Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology (ASET) in its college premises. Mr.Daniel Raj, General Manager - OSM, Suzlon Energy Ltd. Chennai inaugurated the fest. The techfest witnessed a healthy participation from around 35 colleges from all around Kerala and Tamil Nadu. More than forty technical events were organized by different departments spread over two days under the names of KTIZO (Civil), AEON (Computer Science), ZIYA (Electrical and Electronics), ENCORE (Electronics and Communication), MECHANIZE (Mechanical) and ENTERTANIA (S and H). Technical events including paper presentation, project expo, exhibitions and technical quiz were conducted as common event for all departments. Apart from technical events several fun games were also organized as part of this event. Participants from other colleges were much amazed by sprawling campus of Ahalia and were impressed by the arrangement. Hundreds of students from nearby schools also came to witness the techfest on the second day of the fest. Cash prizes worth 2.5 lakhs were awarded for the winners in different events. Bike stunt by TEAM LOSTREETZ was organized as the final event of ZAAGA 2K15.
The Department of training and placement of Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology, Palakkad organized a Seminar on Careers in Armed Forces. Lt. Col. C. The Department of Science and Humanities organized a one-day seminar on Career Development Programme for the first year students. Mr.Ramachandran, Soft Skill Trainer was the guest of the day. Ramachandran mentioned th e importance of interpersonal and life skills for an individual and how it is important in their career growth. He also explained the social responsibilities of an individual and the concern for others.
An industrial visit to Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL) and HCL CDC, was organized for the students of Computer Science Engg. (CSE) (4th Year). This one day visit program aimed at exposing students to the latest developments in the field of telecommunication sector, helping them to understand the relevance of computer applications and IT in business and providing information on employment opportunities in this sector. The training was concluded by discussing about ANDROID operating systems and its different platforms.
ERFINDERS - ECE Department association was inaugurated with a seminar on THE UNLIKELY SCIENTISTS. Prof. DR. K. Smiles Mascarenhas, (Dean Academic affairs, Coimbatore Institute of Engineering and Technology (CIET), Coimbatore, was the Chief guest. An exhibition was also conducted by the students of ECE which covered various areas of Electronics as well as communication Technologies.
IETE Students Forum (Students Chapter) was inaugurated by.C.K.Haridas Founder Chairman and Govering Council Member IETE and insisted that students should continuously involve in various professional activities to improve their talents.
The department of ECE has organized a visit to wind mill in Ahalia campus for ECE S3 students. The Students were taken to all four sites of Ahalia Windmill Project. Dr. K.Sasi, Director, Ahalia Alternate Energy, explained the working and Installation details to the students.
