🎓 Rules and Regulations for Students

1. Academic Regulations
1.1 Attendance
- Minimum 75% attendance in each subject is mandatory to appear for the end-semester examinations.
- Condonation of attendance may be granted up to 10% in genuine medical or personal emergencies, subject to valid documentation. Students of 2019 regulations to submit any medical leave application within five days of returning from leave. The application along with medical certificate to be signed by CA,HOD and Principal to be emailed to CA immediately(within a week from return date).Original to be kept with student and given to KTU coordinator before one week of last working day of semester if the student recognise that he is having condonation. For 2024 regulations, the attendance shortage will be reflected in ktu portal for which student have to pay a condonation fee.
- Condonation will be applicable only for 2Â Â semesters for the duration of the programme as per KTU for 2024 and 2019 regulations of admission
- Condonation can be given to students only if attendance is above 60% attendance
- The various rules and regulations will change are as per KTU modifications from time to time
- Duty leave of different kind is limited to 10%.
- 1.2 Course Work and Evaluations
- Students must complete all assignments, internal tests, and lab work on time.
- Continuous Internal Evaluation (CIE) and Semester-End Examinations (SEE) must be attempted seriously, as per OBE (Outcome-Based Education) model.
- All students have to pay fee before start of every semester. Students will not be allowed to sit in class without fee payment
1.3 Malpractice in Examinations
- Any form of cheating or unfair means during exams will result in disciplinary action, including suspension or debarment as per KTU /institutional norms.
- It is informed that as per KTU rules the entire exams during that semester will be cancelled if identified that candidate involved in malpractice at least in one paper and the decision is approved by university in portal
- Any form of unfair means in examinations will attract disciplinary action as per latest KTU norms and rules for examination.
- Any electronic gadges including mobile phones taken inside exam hall will be returned only after final decision of university in the portal
1.4 Academic Integrity
- Plagiarism in projects, assignments, or research is strictly prohibited.
- Students must adhere to ethical research and authorship practices.
2. Code of Conduct
2.1 Discipline
- Students must maintain discipline and decorum on campus at all times.
- Disrespectful behaviour toward faculty, staff, or peers will lead to disciplinary action.
- No one is allowed to go outside the campus during working hours. If someone want to go out urgently passes may be taken. Pass will be issued if student submit a letter forwarded by CA/HOD and principal and authority may insist a letter from parent.
- If going out unauthorized the student will be expelled from the college
- During various celebrations, student should remain in the area of occurrence of event. They should not wander in the campus
2.2 Dress Code
- Students should follow the prescribed dress code (formal wear/lab with the uniform suggested with badge /ID card) during college hours and special events. Permission will be given to wear formal wear on special occasions. Only formal wears will be allowed and that is permitted only if the head of the institution is allowed by a special message
2.3 Identity Card
- College ID cards must be worn visibly on campus.
- Misuse or loss of ID card must be reported immediately to the administration.
2.4 Ragging
- Ragging is strictly prohibited and punishable under the UGC Anti-Ragging Act.
- Offenders will face immediate expulsion and legal consequences.
- Any incident of ragging to be reported immediately even if someone witnessing it either inside campus, outside campus, in buses, through messages, phone and through any other means.
- Strict action will be taken, if anything happen, like assignment writing, money collection and  other thing under purview of ragging rule
3. Laboratory Rules
3.1 Laboratory Usage
- Follow all safety instructions and protocols in labs.
- Damaging lab equipment intentionally or through negligence will require compensation.
4. Campus Conduct and Safety
4.1 Prohibited Items
- Possession or use of alcohol, tobacco, drugs, or weapons is strictly banned.
- Frequent checking of bags , pockets will be done by the authorities to check possession of objectionable items and if identified , student will be expelled
- Carrying mobile phones into exam halls or restricted areas is prohibited.
4.2 Use of Technology
- Internet facilities are for academic purposes only.
- Misuse of technology, cyberbullying, or spreading false information will invite disciplinary action.
4.3 Environmental Responsibility
- Students must maintain cleanliness on campus and are encouraged to participate in green and sustainable campus initiatives.
5. Participation and Engagement
- Students are encouraged to participate in:
- Clubs and forums (technical, cultural, sports)
- Internships and projects
- FDPs, seminars, and technical symposiums
- Participation in events contributes to PO attainment (Program Outcomes), a core NBA focus.
6. Grievance Redressal
- Students may report grievances related to academics, harassment, discrimination, or administration to the Student Grievance Redressal Cell.
- Suggestion boxes also placed for students to report grievances and give suggestions
- A fair, confidential, and timely resolution process is followed.
7. Disciplinary Actions

8. Transport Usage
- Students using institutional transport must carry valid bus passes.
- Students must maintain respectful behaviour toward fellow passengers, including both boys and girls. Misconduct, teasing, or inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated and may lead to disciplinary action.
- Separate seating arrangements, if prescribed, must be strictly followed.
- No student shall consume or carry alcohol, drugs, tobacco, or any intoxicants inside the bus. Violation will result in immediate suspension from bus services and further disciplinary action.
- Shouting, playing loud music, or creating disturbance in the bus is strictly prohibited.
Social Media Guidelines
- Students should not post defamatory, obscene, or institution-critical content on social media.
- Personal social media use must not violate others’ privacy or institutional reputation.
- Any cyber complaints will be dealt with under IT Act regulations and institutional disciplinary policy.
Vehicle Parking
Vehicles to be parked in designated area.
8. Policy Review and Updates
- The rules may be reviewed and amended periodically.
- Students will be informed through official notices or circulars.
