The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Ahalia School of Engineering & Technology (ASET), organized an expert session on 08 August 2025 in association with GENROBOTICS, a company known for building advanced robotic solutions that focus on safety and social well-being.
The session was held at Visvesvaraya Hall and conducted under the banner of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC), in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA).
The program was arranged for students from Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, and Electrical & Electronics Engineering departments. The aim was to introduce students to the latest trends in robotics and artificial intelligence, and how these technologies are being used to solve real-world problems and improve lives.
The session also marked the beginning of a collaboration between ASET and GENROBOTICS, with plans to sign an MoU and set up a manufacturing unit on the Ahalia campus. This unit will provide students with hands-on learning and project opportunities in the future.
The session began at 3:20 PM with a welcome speech delivered by a faculty member from the Mechanical Engineering Department. It was attended by Dr. P. R. Suresh, Principal of ASET; Dr. Pradip C, Head of the Department of EEE and Placement Officer; Heads of various departments; Mr. Sadanandan A. P. (ME); Mr. Rakesh P. R. (AP, ME); and other faculty members. The session was handled by Genrobotics representatives Mr. Abhijith Ajikumar and Mr. Mohamed Sabique P. Around 180 students attended the session, making it an interesting and well-received event.
Session Highlights:
- Introduction to robotics and AI fundamentals.
- Demonstration of innovative robotic solutions developed by Genrobotics.
- Discussion on the role of engineers in creating socially beneficial technologies.
- Opportunities for students to engage in robotics projects and entrepreneurship.
The session ended at 4:00 PM with an interactive Q&A session, where students asked questions about internships, research, and careers in robotics. The event was engaging and informative, giving students a great opportunity to explore the future of robotics and innovation.
