The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Ahalia School of Engineering & Technology (ASET) organised the Inauguration Programme of the Association of Royal Mechanical Engineers (ARME) on August 22, 2025, at the Visvesvaraya Seminar Hall. The programme
began at 10:00 AM and was conducted to launch the activities of ARME officially and to provide a platform for students to improve their technical knowledge, leadership skills, and teamwork abilities.
The programme was attended by students of 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year Mechanical Engineering, along with faculty members and dignitaries. The inauguration was marked by the presence of Dr. Suresh P R, Principal of ASET; Dr. Bhavin K Bharath, HoD of Mechanical Engineering and Mr. Sadanandan R, Staff Coordinator. The event also featured a technical session on Robotics handled by Dr. Rakesh Kumar Sidharthan, Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering. The programme began with a welcome address by Mr. Ramith R (S7ME), President ARME, followed by a prayer from the Prayer Group. Dignitaries were introduced by Mr. adanandan
R, Staff Coordinator. The HoD and Principal addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of professional associations in student development. The technical session on robotics was well-received and provided valuable insights into recent developments and applications of robotics in engineering and industry. The association and office bearers were introduced by Mr. Akhilesh P (S7ME), Secretary ARME. The morning session concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Irin Ranju (S5ME), Treasurer, followed by the National Anthem. In the afternoon, a quiz competition was conducted as part of the inauguration programme. The quiz was actively participated in by students of all years, creating a lively and competitiveatmosphere. The event tested the students’ technical knowledge, also encouragingteamwork. Following the quiz, an introduction of the 1st year Mechanical Engineering students was conducted, providing them an opportunity to present themselves and interact
with senior students and faculty. This activity helped build rapport and encouraged the newcomers to take an active role in ARME’s upcoming events. The programme came to a close at 4:20 PM, marking the end of a successful inauguration day.
