The ASET team arrived at the Indian Institute of Technology Palakkad at 9:50 AM, 08-10-2025. The official MoU signing ceremony between IIT Palakkad and the Ministry of Minority Affairs commenced promptly at 10:00 AM.Indian Institute of Technology Palakkad, in collaboration with the IIT Palakkad Technology IHub Foundation (IPTIF), has been selected as one of the Implementation Partner Institutions under the PM VIKAS (Pradhan Mantri Virasat ka Samvardhan) scheme of the Government of India. This initiative is led by the Ministry of Minority Affairs (MoMA) to implement skill development programs focused on students and youth from minority communities, Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Parsis, and Jains in the states of Kerala and Tamil Nadu.Under this scheme, IIT Palakkad, along with IPTIF and other skilling partners, will be offering certified hands-on courses (NSQF Level 5 and above) with placement support. These programs will prepare students for employment roles such as:
Junior Chip Designer
Embedded Software Engineer
Junior Engineer – Drone R&D
The event was graced by the presence of Shri. George Kurian, Hon’ble Minister of State for Minority Affairs, and Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying. In his address, the Minister emphasized the importance of skill development and industry collaboration in empowering youth and enhancing employability.
Faculty members Dr. Bahvin K Bharath, Prof. Vipin Das, and Prof. Sanish V S from Ahalia School of Engineering attended the function along with 15 students from various branches. Participants from nearly ten colleges took part in the program, making it a vibrant and engaging event.
Following the MoU signing, all attendees were directed to visit the IPTIF, where they were introduced to state-of-the-art facilities, including:
Fabrication Lab
Motion Capture Lab
Battery Testing Lab
3D Printing Lab
The visit concluded around 12:00 PM, after which the team returned to Ahalia.
