The official inauguration of the ISTE Student Chapter at Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology was held on 15 October 2025 at Visvesvaraya Hall. The event marked a significant milestone for the student community, opening new avenues for learning, professional growth, and industry collaboration.
The ceremony was graced by Er. Pankaj Kumar Vashist, Chairman and Managing Director, M/s Instrumentation Ltd., who formally handed over the Certificate of Institution of the College Student Chapter to Dr. P. R. Suresh, Principal, Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology. This symbolic gesture represented the official endorsement and institutional support for the newly established chapter.
Dr. Murugananth Gopal Raj, Dean of Research and Secretary, Ahalia ISTE Palakkad Chapter, delivered the welcome address. Ms. Sangeetha P. S., Student Chapter Coordinator, introduced the office bearers, and Mr. Akshith Kumar R., Joint Secretary, proposed the vote of thanks.
Following the inauguration, Er. Vashist presented an inspiring keynote address titled “Campus to Corporate — Must-Have Skills for Engineers.” His talk emphasized key soft skills vital for professional success, including effective communication, teamwork, critical thinking, adaptability, time management, and professionalism. He also underlined the importance of technical competence and remaining updated with evolving tools and technologies relevant to the engineering domain.
The event witnessed active participation from 150 students representing various departments. The interactive Q&A session drew enthusiastic engagement, with students sharing their queries and seeking guidance on career development. Faculty members, student coordinators, and administrative staff extended their support, contributing to the smooth and successful conduct of the event.
