The Department of Civil Engineering, Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology, organized a Student Orientation Program on GGBS and Sustainability in association with JSW Cement Limited on February 20, 2026.
The session was inaugurated with a Presidential Address by Dr. P. R. Suresh, Principal, who emphasized the importance of sustainable construction practices in modern engineering. The technical session was delivered by Mr. Sarath Vinod, Deputy Manager, JSW Cement Limited, Cochin, highlighting the role of GGBS in improving durability, reducing heat of hydration, and promoting eco-friendly construction.
The program concluded with remarks by Dr. B. V. Mathew, Head of the Civil Engineering Department, encouraging students to adopt sustainable materials and practices in their future careers.
