An industrial visit was organized on 21st February 2026 for the S6 ECE students to ITI Limited, Palakkad, with the objective of providing practical exposure to industrial operations and manufacturing processes in the telecommunications sector. A total of 49 students participated in the visit under the guidance of Mr. Sanish V.S., Assistant Professor, and Ms. Priyanka, Teaching Assistant.ITI Limited is a Government of India Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Communications. The Palakkad unit specializes in the manufacturing and assembly of telecommunication equipment and electronic components. The organization plays a significant role in supporting India’s telecom infrastructure.Upon arrival, students were welcomed by the company officials and given an introductory session about the history, functioning, and major projects of ITI Limited.Students were taken to various sections of the plant, including:Assembly units,Testing laboratories,Quality control departments.Engineers explained the working principles of telecom equipment, PCB assembly techniques, cable harnessing, and testing procedures.
The visit helped students to:Understand large-scale industrial production processes,Gain exposure to testing and quality assurance techniques,Learn about industrial safety measures and protocols.,Enhance knowledge about telecom infrastructure and equipment.,Develop awareness about career prospects in public sector industries.
The industrial visit to ITI Limited, Palakkad, was highly informative and beneficial for the S6 ECE students. It provided valuable industrial exposure and strengthened their understanding of practical applications of electronics and communication engineering concepts. The visit successfully bridged the gap between academic learning and industrial practice.
