IGNITE 2026, an innovation and entrepreneurship competition, was conducted on 28 February 2026 at Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology, Palakkad. The event aimed to encourage innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurial thinking among students. The program was organized in association with Darsana, a charitable organization formed by the alumni of NSS College of Engineering, Palakkad. IGNITE is designed to support young innovators and help them develop socially relevant startup ideas and technological solutions. Around 160 teams registered for the competition from different institutions. After evaluation, 31 projects were shortlisted for the Grand Finale, where participants showcased their innovative ideas and solutions. From these finalists, five projects were selected as winners, each receiving a cash prize of ₹25,000 along with recognition and support.
The event included several engaging sessions such as project presentations, talks by industry experts, an IEDC Student leads meet, and an interactive AI workshop for students. The workshop helped participants understand how artificial intelligence can be used creatively for solving real-world problems and developing innovative startup ideas.
Students from high schools, higher secondary schools, polytechnic institutions, and colleges participated in the program. The sessions focused on developing entrepreneurial skills, problem-solving abilities, and understanding emerging technologies.
The event concluded with an award ceremony where the best projects were recognized. Certificates were distributed to all participants, and guidance was provided for further improving the projects and exploring incubation opportunities. Overall, IGNITE 2025 was a successful event that inspired students to think innovatively and work towards building impactful technological solutions for society.
