Karmika Magazine Volume 1 2026 Released

The Mechanical Engineering Department of ASET successfully launched its technical magazine, KARMIKA (Volume 1), on 26-03-2026 at the Visvesvaraya Seminar Hall, ASET. The function commenced at 12:00 PM and concluded at 1:10 PM. The event witnessedtheenthusiastic participation of Mechanical Engineering students from all classes, alongwithfaculty members. 

Dr. Bhavin K. Bharath, Head of the Department, formally introduced KARMIKAandhighlighted its vision and purpose. He explained that the title KARMIKA is derived fromtheSanskrit word “Karman,” meaning action, which reflects the core essence of Mechanical Engineering, innovation through practical application and continuous creation. Heemphasized that the magazine serves as a platform for students to showcase their technical knowledge, creativity, research insights, and project work, thereby fostering a cultureoflearning and innovation within the department. 

As part of the event, Dr. Bhavin K. Bharath unveiled an innovative creation developedbystudents of the 2024–28 batch, Aljo Joseph and Naveen, a portable computer systembuilt entirely from scrap materials. He appreciated their effort and encouraged other students tocome forward with similar creative ideas and projects. 

During the function, the HoD also congratulated Sidharth N. R., the topper of the S1(2025–29) batch, for securing an impressive SGPA of 9.05. He further announced the reinstatement of the SAE Club at ASET, aiming to enhance students’ technical exposure and industry-oriented skills. 

The Principal, Dr. P. R. Suresh, congratulated the entire Mechanical Engineering Department for the successful launch of KARMIKA. He appreciated the initiative and suggestedthat future editions could also include the achievements of faculty and students or evenbeexpanded into a separate departmental newsletter. Mr. Krishna Kumar Kishor, Vice Principal, conveyed his wishes, as he was unable to be present at the function. 

Dr. John Alexis, Professor; Mr. Dhanesh and Mr. Vivek Gopi, Assistant Professors, felicitated the function. Ms. Medha of S6 ME shared her experience on behalf of the student editorial team. Aljo Joseph was specially appreciated for his outstanding work for themagazine. 

The program concluded on a positive note, marking the beginning of a promising platformfor technical expression and collaborative learning within the Mechanical EngineeringDepartment.
