Dr. R. Satheesh Kumar is an accomplished academician, researcher, administrator, and recognized Ph.D. supervisor with over 18 years of experience in teaching, research, academic administration, and industry. He completed his Postdoctoral Research from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, USA, in hybrid mode during 2025. He obtained his Ph.D. in Information and Communication Engineering from Anna University, Chennai, in 2016. He also holds an M.Tech in Information Technology, MBA in Information Systems, M.Sc. in Computer Science, and B.Sc. in Computer Science from reputed institutions under Bharathiar University and Anna University. His areas of specialization include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Data Science, Cyber Security, Image Processing, Cloud Computing, Internet of Things (IoT), and Big Data Analytics.
Dr. Satheesh Kumar is an approved Ph.D. Research Supervisor of APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) and is currently guiding five research scholars in emerging areas of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. He has also served as a Ph.D. thesis examiner for universities including Anna University, Bharathiar University, Vel Tech University, PRIST University, and Shri Venkateswara University.
A prolific researcher, he has published more than 60 research articles in reputed SCIE, Scopus, and UGC Care indexed journals and conferences, authored six textbooks, contributed three Scopus-indexed book chapters, and secured multiple national and international patents in the domains of Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, IoT, Healthcare, and Cyber Security.
He has successfully secured research grants totalling ₹4.60 lakhs from APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University and AICTE for organizing Faculty Development Programmes and National Conferences. He also coordinated an expert committee meeting for the development
of a trilingual engineering glossary funded by the Commission for Scientific and Technical Terminology (CSTT), Ministry of Education, Government of India.
As an academic leader, he has played a significant role in securing NBA accreditation, contributed extensively to NAAC quality initiatives, served as Chairman of the Board of Studies, and functioned as University Laboratory Examination Chairperson for APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University.
Dr. R. Satheesh Kumar has mentored numerous innovative student projects that have won prestigious awards and cash prizes at national-level competitions and hackathons. He has chaired technical sessions in several IEEE international conferences and delivered invited
talks and workshops on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Python Programming, Research Methodology, and Positive Thinking. He serves as Joint Secretary (Academia), IEEE Computer Society Kerala Chapter, is a Senior Member of IEEE, and holds life memberships in professional bodies including ISTE, IAENG, and IACSIT. He also serves as Editor-in-Chief, Editorial Board Member, and
reviewer for leading international journals published by Springer, Elsevier, Wiley, and EAI. In recognition of his academic and research excellence, he received the “Excellent Faculty Award” from Sahrdaya College of Engineering and Technology and the “Innovative
Research and Dedicated Academician Award” from the Innovative Scientific Research Professional Society, Malaysia.
