Students of S5 ECE visited Ahalia Diabetes Hospital, Palakkad as part of our academic exposure to Biomedical Engineering applications. During the visit familiarization with various departments including Neurology, Cardiology, Diabetology and Podiatry has been done.
A special session was conducted on the ECG machine in the Cardiology department. The staff explained its working principle, electrode placement and how the electrical activity of the heart is recorded as PQRST waves using amplifiers and filters. The visit was highly informative and helped us to connect our subjects like Biomedical Instrumentation with real-world applications.
