2025 – 2029 Batch Inauguration and Student Induction Program

Day Inauguration – 13th August 2025 (Wednesday)

The Student Induction Program (SIP) 2025 was organized from 13th to 20th August 2025 with the objective of familiarizing the newly admitted students with the institutional ethos, academic culture, and holistic development practices. The program included a series of orientation sessions, expert lectures, motivational talks, cultural activities, and interactive workshops.

The Student Induction Program (SIP) 2025 at Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology (ASET) was formally inaugurated on 13th August 2025 at the Punarjani Auditorium. The program, designed to welcome and orient the new batch of students, commenced at 9:30 a.m.

The inaugural session began with a prayer rendered by Ms. Krishna Priya, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, invoking an auspicious start to the proceedings. Dr. G. Murugananth, Dean of Research, extended a cordial welcome to the gathering, setting the tone for the event and emphasizing the significance of academic initiation. The traditional lighting of the lamp ceremony was then performed by the dignitaries on the dais, symbolizing the pursuit of knowledge and enlightenment.

Dr. Suresh P. R., Principal, ASET, presided the function, who articulated the vision and mission of the institution and urged students to pursue academic rigor alongside holistic personal development, in his presidential address. Dr. Krishna Kumar Kishor, Vice Principal, ASET, and Executive Director, Ahalia Group, felicitated the gathering. In his felicitation address, he encouraged students to cultivate determination, resilience, and a commitment to excellence throughout their academic journey.

The Chief Guest of the day, Shri. Ilanthirai V. S., Principal General Manager, BSNL, Palakkad, was introduced by Ms. Chippy Binoy, Assistant Professor, Department of Science and Humanities. Shri. Ilanthirai V. S., inaugurated the commencement of the classes for the first year of the batch 2025-29. He inspired students to adopt discipline, innovation, and perseverance as essential attributes for future professional success and leadership, in his inaugural address.

As a gesture of gratitude, a memento was presented to the Chief Guest by the Principal. The session concluded with a Vote of Thanks, proposed by Dr. Rajeev N., Dean (Academics), ASET, who expressed sincere appreciation to the dignitaries, faculty, parents and students for their enthusiastic participation and support.

The inauguration served as the formal commencement of the week-long Student Induction Program 2025, which aims to provide the incoming batch with academic orientation, values-based learning, and exposure to institutional culture, thereby laying a strong foundation for their growth as students and professionals within the ASET community.

Day 2 – 14th August 2025 (Thursday)

The sessions of Day 2 focused on ‘Universal Human Values – Understanding the Full Human Potential’, delivered by Dr. Sunilkumar N., Professor & Head, Division of Civil Engineering, Cochin University College of Engineering, Kuttanad. Faculty members from various departments coordinated and facilitated the discussions. The sessions emphasized ethical living, empathy, and social responsibility, and the students actively participated in meaningful interactions.

Day 3 – 18th August 2025 (Monday)

The third day began with a session on ‘Heartfulness Meditative Practices for Life’ conducted by Dr. D. S. Harish Ram and Mr. T. S. Radhakrishnan, Preceptors from the Heartfulness Institute, Palakkad. This was followed by an Anti-Ragging Awareness session by Mr. Rajesh Kumar, IPS, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Palakkad. Another session on ‘Foundations of Resilience’ was led by Dr. Sumaina, Consultant, Ayurveda, AAMCH. The day concluded with ‘Startup – A Student Perspective’ delivered by Mr. Anoop Ambika, CEO, Kerala Startup Mission, which inspired students to explore entrepreneurial opportunities.

Day 4 – 19th August 2025 (Tuesday)

Day 4 featured a continuation of the Heartfulness Meditative Practices session. This was followed by ‘Life: A Student’s Perspective’ by Mr. Akbar Ali, Travel Explorer, Social Media Influencer, and Yoga Trainer. Later, Dr. Vijayachandra Pillai, Principal and Director, ASM, delivered a session on Personality Development, encouraging students to focus on self-growth and communication skills. The day ended with vibrant Cultural Activities presented by the first-year students, showcasing their creativity and teamwork.

Day 5 – 20th August 2025 (Wednesday)

The final day began with a session on Heartfulness Meditative Practices, reinforcing mindfulness and balance. This was followed by an Awareness Session by Mr. Mujib C. U, RTO Palakkad, on road safety and regulations. An insightful talk was then delivered by Dr. Ajesh M Pillai, Ayurveda Consultant and Director, engaging students with thought-provoking ideas. The program concluded with a Valedictory Session chaired by him, with faculty coordinators and resource persons extending their support. For the Valedictory Function,  Mr. Vipindas  K, AP EEE welcomed the gathering and the Dean Academics, Dr. Rajeev N delivered the Presidential address. The report of the SIP was presented by Mr. Sunder V, HoD AIML. The Valedictory Address was delivered by Dr. Ajesh M Pillai and the HoD EEE, Dr. Pradip C proposed the vote of thanks. The valedictory marked the successful culmination of the Student Induction Program 2025.

Conclusion

The Student Induction Program 2025 successfully oriented the students towards academic and personal growth. The blend of value-based education, meditation practices, resilience training, entrepreneurial insights, and cultural programs helped the students build confidence, discipline, and adaptability for their academic journey. The program demonstrated the institution’s commitment to holistic student development, ethics, and professional readiness.
