7 Days NSS CAMP

Aset NSS unit conducted 7 day camp in MVHSS Puthunagaram, Palakkad from 23rd December to 29th December 2024 with coordination of Puthunagaram Grama panchayath under NSS Unit 311, Ahalia School of Engineering & Technology. National service scheme technical cell unit functions at the college as Unit No 311. The unit is controlled by Mr. Jayakrishnan R, Assistant professor, Department of Civil Engineering as program officer. Mr. Mridhul Krishna & Ms. Anuja S of Third year ECE are the volunteer secretaries of the unit.

Day 1

The NSS 7-Day Special Camp of NSS Unit 311, Ahalia School of Engineering & Technology (ASET) commenced on 23 December 2025 at MVHSS Pudunagaram with a well-organised inaugural programme.

The registration of volunteers began at 5.00 pm, followed by the NSS song. The programme formally started with a welcome address by Ms. Anuja S, Volunteer Secretary. The Presidential Address was delivered by Dr. P. R. Suresh, Principal, ASET, who highlighted the importance of social responsibility among students. The camp was officially inaugurated by Mrs. Jareena Begum S.A, Headmistress, MHS Pudunagaram.

The programme included felicitation addresses by Ismail I, Ward Member; Beena, Principal, MHSS Pudunagaram; Bijimol Jacob, Principal, MVHSS Pudunagaram; Muhammed Rafi, PTA President; Ms. Sangeetha P S, Assistant Professor, S&H, ASET; and Mr. Jayakrishnan R, NSS Programme Officer, Unit 311. The inaugural function concluded with a vote of thanks by Mridhul Krishna, Volunteer Secretary.

After the formal session, an ice-breaking session was conducted by Mr. Jayakrishnan R, NSS Programme Officer, along with Mr. V S Rishikesh, NSS Alumni, which helped the volunteers bond, interact freely, and build team spirit.

Dinner was served at 7.30 pm, after which volunteers were divided into teams for effective coordination of camp activities. The day concluded smoothly with lights off at 10.30 pm, marking the successful completion of Day 1 of the NSS camp

Day 2

The second day of the NSS 7-Day Special Camp of NSS Unit 311, Ahalia School of Engineering & Technology (ASET) was conducted on 24 December 2025 with the theme Manass Nanavate, focusing on discipline, awareness, and service.

The day began early with a wake-up call at 6:00 am, followed by the morning assembly at the ground. The assembly included the Manava Geetham, Thought of the Day, news reading, and inspirational quotes from the Quran, Bible, and Bhagavad Gita, reflecting unity in diversity. The concerned group presented the previous day’s camp report and camp paper, after which Mr. Jayakrishnan R, NSS Programme Officer, addressed the volunteers, motivating them for the day’s activities.

After breakfast, volunteers were divided into groups and sent to Wards 6 and 7 to conduct educational surveys as part of the camp activities. The survey teams returned by 1:30 pm, and the collected data were reviewed.

In the evening session, a self-defence workshop was conducted with the objective of creating awareness about personal safety and self-protection. The session was interactive and informative, and volunteers actively participated. Feedback was collected from the participants, followed by a brief camp evaluation to assess the day’s progress and identify areas for improvement.

Mr. Askar Ali, District Coordinator, NSS Palakkad, visited the camp and reviewed the activities. He interacted with the volunteers and appreciated their discipline, commitment, and enthusiastic participation. The day concluded with a cultural evening, during which volunteers showcased their talents through music, games, and group activities. The programme strengthened team bonding and celebrated the spirit of togetherness among the volunteers, marking the successful completion of Day 2 of the NSS camp

Day 3

The third day of the NSS 7-Day Special Camp of NSS Unit 311, Ahalia School of Engineering & Technology (ASET) commenced with the morning assembly at 6:00 am. The assembly included the NSS song, physical training, thought of the day, and newspaper reading, which helped instil discipline, unity, and social awareness among the volunteers.

After breakfast, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, volunteers actively participated in conducting an Educational Survey in the nearby localities. The activity enabled the volunteers to interact closely with the community and understand the educational status and challenges faced by the residents.

In the afternoon session, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, a hands-on workshop on “First Aid and Risk Mitigation” was conducted by the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Samithi. The session provided practical training on basic first aid techniques, emergency response, and risk mitigation strategies, equipping the volunteers with essential life-saving skills.

In the evening, a Christmas celebration was organised at the camp venue. The programme included cake cutting, festive messages, and cultural interactions, spreading joy and reinforcing the spirit of unity and togetherness among the volunteers. The day concluded with Cultural Programmes and Camp Evaluation from 8:00 pm to 9:00 pm, during which volunteers showcased their talents and shared feedback on the day’s activities. The celebrations added a special festive spirit to the camp, marking the successful completion of Day 3

Day 4

The fourth day of the NSS 7-Day Special Camp of NSS Unit 311, Ahalia School of Engineering & Technology (ASET) commenced with the morning assembly at 6:00 am. The assembly included the NSS song, physical training, thought of the day, and newspaper reading, fostering discipline, unity, and social awareness among the volunteers.

At 7:30 am, a session on “Heartfulness Meditation for Holistic Well-being” was conducted by Mr. T. S. Radhakrishnan, Heartfulness Trainer, Palakkad. The session helped volunteers attain mental calmness, improved focus, and emotional balance.

From 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, volunteers actively participated in an Educational Survey, interacting with the local community and collecting valuable data related to educational awareness.

In the afternoon, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, a talk session on HIV/AIDS awareness was conducted by Ms. Nimisha, ICTC Counsellor, Chittur. The session provided detailed information on prevention, misconceptions, stigma, and the importance of early diagnosis, creating awareness among the volunteers. This was followed by another awareness session from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm on “Laws Pertaining to Drugs and Its Usage”, delivered by Mr. N. Suresh Babu, Assistant Excise Inspector. The session educated volunteers on legal provisions, consequences of substance abuse, and the role of youth in promoting a drug-free society. From 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, an Acting Workshop was conducted by Mr. Ajithchandran C, Master of Theatre Arts. The interactive workshop enhanced creativity, self-expression, confidence, and communication skills among the volunteers. The day concluded with Cultural Programmes and Camp Evaluation from 8:00 pm to 9:00 pm, during which volunteers reflected on the day’s learning and showcased their talents. The well-structured activities of the day significantly contributed to the holistic development of the volunteers, marking the successful completion of Day 4 of the NSS camp

Day 5

 The fifth day of the NSS 7-Day Special Camp of NSS Unit 311, Ahalia School of Engineering & Technology (ASET) commenced with the morning assembly at 6:00 am. The assembly included the NSS song, physical training, thought of the day, and newspaper reading, reinforcing unity, discipline, and social responsibility among the volunteers.

At 7:30 am, a Heartfulness Meditation session was conducted by Mr. T. S. Radhakrishnan, enabling the volunteers to begin the day with mental clarity, focus, and positivity.

From 9:00 am to 12:00 noon, volunteers actively participated in a cleaning drive at the Pudunagaram Police Station premises. The activity aimed at promoting cleanliness, civic responsibility, and respect for public institutions. Volunteers worked enthusiastically to clean and beautify the premises, contributing meaningfully to the community.

In the afternoon session, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, an NSS Alumni Meet was organised at the camp venue. Former NSS volunteers shared their experiences, insights, and guidance, motivating the present volunteers and strengthening the bond between past and present members of the NSS unit.

The day concluded with Cultural Programmes and Camp Evaluation from 8:00 pm to 9:00 pm, during which volunteers showcased their talents and reflected on the day’s activities. The programme enhanced team spirit and marked another impactful day of service and learning during the NSS camp

Day 6

The sixth day of the NSS 7-Day Special Camp of NSS Unit 311, Ahalia School of Engineering & Technology (ASET) commenced with the morning assembly at 6:00 am. The assembly included the NSS song, physical training, thought of the day, and newspaper reading, setting a disciplined and energetic tone for the day.

At 7:30 am, a Heartfulness Meditation session was conducted by Mr. T. S. Radhakrishnan, helping the volunteers begin the day with mental calmness, focus, and positivity.

From 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, a Medical Camp was organised in collaboration with the Ahalia Group of Hospitals at the camp venue. Medical professionals conducted general health check-ups and provided guidance on personal hygiene, preventive healthcare, and healthy lifestyle practices. The medical camp benefitted both the NSS volunteers and members of the local community. In the evening, the Valedictory Function of the NSS 7-Day Special Camp was held at MVHSS Pudunagaram. The programme began with the NSS Song, followed by a welcome address by Mr. Sanjay R, Volunteer. The Presidential Address was delivered by Dr. Rajeev N, Dean Academics, ASET, highlighting the significance of NSS activities in shaping socially responsible youth.

The Valedictory Address was delivered by Mr. A. Babu, Panchayath President, Pudunagaram, who appreciated the dedicated service rendered by the volunteers during the camp. Felicitation addresses were offered by Mr. Ismail I, Ward Member, and Mr. Muhammed Rafi, PTA President. The Camp Report was presented by Mr. Jayakrishnan R, NSS Programme Officer, summarising the activities and achievements of the 7-day camp. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Abiram, marking the formal closure of the camp activities. The sixth day thus concluded on a memorable and fulfilling note, celebrating the successful completion of the NSS 7-Day Special Camp

Day 7

The seventh and final day of the NSS 7-Day Special Camp of NSS Unit 311, Ahalia School of Engineering & Technology (ASET) began with the morning assembly at 6:00 am. The assembly included the NSS song, thought of the day, and newspaper reading, encouraging reflection on the learning experiences and service activities of the camp.

Following the assembly, a feedback session was conducted in which volunteers shared their experiences, memorable moments, and learning outcomes from the seven-day camp. The session provided an opportunity for collective reflection and evaluation of the camp activities.

A photo session was organised thereafter to capture the memories of the camp and commemorate the participation of the volunteers.

By 3:00 pm, the NSS camp was formally dispersed, marking the successful completion of the NSS 7-Day Special Camp, December 2025. The final day concluded with a sense of fulfilment, strengthened bonds, and a renewed commitment to the ideals of the National Service Scheme.
