A three-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) was conducted jointly by the Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) and the Wadhwani Foundation at Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology (ASET), Palakkad, from 7th to 9th August 2024. The FDP aimed to equip faculty members with entrepreneurial facilitation skills to effectively mentor and guide students in entrepreneurship and innovation through the Wadhwani Foundation’s IGNITE curriculum. The program witnessed the participation of 30 faculty members from different colleges across Kerala.
2. Inaugural Session
The FDP was inaugurated on 7th August 2024 at Visvesvaraya Hall by Dr. P. R. Suresh, Principal, ASET.
Felicitation addresses were delivered by Mr. Vinith A Joseph from Kerala Startup Mission and Ms. Vishnupriya from Wadhwani Foundation. The sessions were facilitated by the Resource Person, Mr. Gopakumar. Coordinators of the program were Ms. Lakshmy Suresh and Mr. Vipindas K.

4. Key Outcomes
• Faculty members gained practical insights into problem identification, customer validation, business modeling, prototype development, and financial management.
• The use of case studies, simulations, and venture activities enhanced participant engagement.
• Each participant prepared for pedagogy demo sessions and venture viability presentations.
• The FDP strengthened the capacity of faculty to serve as entrepreneurship educators in their respective institutions.
5. Conclusion
The 3-day FDP at ASET, conducted in collaboration with KSUM and Wadhwani Foundation, was highly impactful in building a network of trained entrepreneurship educators. The sessions successfully combined theory with hands-on venture activities, enabling faculty participants to mentor and inspire future student entrepreneurs. The program concluded with positive feedback from participants, emphasizing its relevance, interactive pedagogy, and practical approach to entrepreneurship education.
