- Introduction
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), in collaboration with the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC) of Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology, organized a one-day hands-on workshop on “Arduino”
on 4th August 2025. The workshop was conducted with the objective of providing students with hands-on exposure to Arduino-based embedded systems and enhancing their practical understanding of microcontroller programming. - Resource Person
The session was handled by Mr. Sathyan P, Senior Lab Instructor, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology. With his rich experience in circuit design and embedded programming, he introduced the students to the fundamentals of Arduino, simulation tools, and practical applications in the domain of electronics and automation. - Participants
A total of 20 students from the seventh semester of the EEE Department actively participated in the workshop. - Workshop Highlights
The workshop covered the following key aspects:
Introduction to Arduino microcontroller and its architecture.
Overview of Arduino IDE and basic programming techniques.
Practical demonstrations using Arduino simulation tools.
Hands-on exercises on simple projects like LED blinking, sensor interfacing, and basic automation.
Discussion on the relevance of Arduino in project development, prototyping, and entrepreneurship. - Coordinators
The workshop was effectively coordinated by: Mr. Subin Chacko, Assistant Professor, EEE Ms. Lakshmy Suresh, Assistant Professor, EEE Mr. Vipindas K, Assistant Professor, EEE
Conclusion
The workshop successfully provided an interactive learning platform for the students, helping them strengthen their technical competency in embedded systems. Such initiatives align with the department’s vision of preparing students for future innovations and industry readiness. The Department of EEE, in association with IEDC, plans to organize more such workshops to foster practical skills and entrepreneurial mindset
among students.
