An NSS Orientation Program was successfully conducted by NSS Unit 311 of Ahalia School of Engineering & Technology at the Visvesvaraya Hall on August 2, 2025. The program aimed to welcome new volunteers and familiarize them with the vision and activities of the National Service Scheme (NSS).
The session began at 9:30 am with the NSS Geetham by NSS Volunteers, followed by a warm welcome address delivered by Mr. Mridhul Krishna, Volunteer Secretary. The Presidential Address was given by Dr. Suresh P R, Principal of Ahalia School of Engineering & Technology, who emphasized the importance of youth involvement in social service.
An introduction to the functioning and achievements of the NSS Unit was presented by Mr. Jayakrishnan R, NSS Program Officer. This was followed by an engaging orientation session led by Mr. Syam Prasad G, Former District Coordinator, Palakkad, who shared his valuable experiences and insights with the volunteers.
After a brief tea break, Ms. Anuja S, Volunteer Secretary, delivered the Vote of Thanks, appreciating the contributions of all participants and resource persons.
The afternoon session included interview and an ice-breaking session, both organized and coordinated by the senior NSS Volunteers, to build camaraderie among new members and ensure smooth integration into the unit.
The event was well-received and marked a promising start to the new NSS journey for the incoming volunteers.
