As part of the Plastic Collection Challenge organized by the University NSS Cell in association with the Natural Resource Protection Force (NRPF), the NSS Unit of Ahalia School of Engineering & Technology, Palakkad, conducted a plastic collection drive at public places outside the campus on January 15, 2026.
NSS volunteers actively participated in the drive and collected plastic waste from roadsides and other public areas in the vicinity of the campus. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about plastic pollution and to encourage the public to adopt responsible waste disposal practices.
The collected plastic waste will be handed over to Haritha Karma Sena, Pudussery Panchayath, for proper and environmentally safe disposal as per the local waste management system.
The programme was organized under the coordination of Sabarinath M, Anamika, Irfana, and Sai Nitheesh. The activity formed part of the week-long Plastic Collection Challenge conducted from January 12 to 18, 2026, highlighting the commitment of NSS volunteers towards environmental protection and community service.
