The International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking was jointly observed by Ahalia YAAD (Youth Against Alcohol and Drugs) and the Kerala Excise Department at the AWACH Auditorium on 26th June 2025.
The district-level inauguration of the anti-drug awareness campaign was carried out by the Honourable MLA of Malampuzha, Shri Prabhakaran. The event commenced with a welcome address by the Deputy Commissioner of Excise, followed by the presidential address delivered by Dr. Krishnakumar Kishore, Executive Director, Ahalia Group. Felicitations were offered by Ms. Revathi Babu, President, Elapully Grama Panchayat, and Fr. Albert Anand Raj.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 750 school students, in addition to teachers and officials. Highlights of the programme included an anti-drug flash mob and a tableau, performed by Ahalia students and the Excise Department, which effectively conveyed messages on drug prevention.
An anti-drug pledge was administered under the leadership of District Anti-Drug Coordinator, Ms. Drishya K. S., reinforcing the commitment to a drug-free society. More than 30 Excise police officers, along with teachers and 750 students from various schools, were present for the occasion.
