SoftEdge – Managing Software in the Cloud Era

SoftEdge – Managing Software in the Cloud Era

The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning organized an online seminar titled “SoftEdge – Managing Software in the Cloud Era.” The session was part of the department association ASTHRA and aimed to enhance students’ understanding of modern software management techniques and their connection with Object-Oriented Programming (OOPS) principles.

The primary goal of the seminar was to help students understand how Object-Oriented Programming concepts are applied in cloud-based software development. It also aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical OOPS concepts and their practical applications in real-world software engineering.

The seminar was led by Mr. Vignesh Kumar, an experienced Full Stack Developer with strong expertise in cloud-based systems and software architecture. His insights into real-world programming practices gave students a practical understanding of OOPS and its role in scalable software development.

The session began with an introduction to the evolution of software systems and how Object-Oriented Programming plays a central role in designing modular and maintainable applications.

Key topics covered during the seminar included:

  • Fundamentals of OOPS concepts such as Classes, Objects, Inheritance, Polymorphism, and Encapsulation.
  • How OOPS improves code reusability and scalability in cloud environments.
  • Integrating OOPS with cloud-based technologies for building distributed systems.
  • Demonstrations of real-world case studies involving Python and Java frameworks used in full-stack development.
  • Best practices in software versioning, deployment, and maintenance using OOPS design principles.

By the end of the session, participants gained:

  • A deeper understanding of OOPS principles and their implementation in cloud computing.
  • Awareness of industry tools and technologies used in full-stack and cloud development.
  • Inspiration to apply object-oriented thinking in academic and project-based work.

The seminar was conducted smoothly and saw a maximum participation of the students thanks to our  Convenor Mr. Sunder V, HOD – AIML and our:

Faculty Coordinators: Mrs. Neethu A B (AIML Department), Mrs. Reshma P K (AIML Department)

Student Coordinators: Adhuaith Mohan (S3 AIML), A Harikrishnan (S3 AIML)

They played their respective roles well. The seminar provided valuable exposure to both OOPS fundamentals and their practical relevance in modern software engineering. It successfully linked academic learning with professional practices, equipping students with essential knowledge for their future careers in both Artificial Intelligence and Software Development
