Designing for Decarbonization

The Department of Civil Engineering at Ahalia School of Engineering & Technology, Palakkad, successfully organized an insightful webinar on the theme “Designing for Decarbonization” on July 23, 2025, at 11:30 AM. The session was conducted via Google Meet and aimed at spreading awareness and knowledge on sustainable design practices aligned with global climate goals.

The event was organized under the banner of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) in association with Race to Zero Ahalia and ISTE student chapter. It focused on integrating environmentally responsible strategies into the architectural and civil engineering design processes, promoting a carbon-neutral future.

Two distinguished experts from Environmental Design Solutions (EDS), New Delhi, graced the session:

Ar. Sanjay Antony, Senior Green Building Analyst, EDS

Both speakers brought in a wealth of knowledge from their extensive experience in green building design and environmental consultancy. They elaborated on innovative strategies for decarbonizing buildings and infrastructure, focusing on passive design, energy-efficient systems, and policy-driven design frameworks.

The webinar attracted a large number of students, faculty, and professionals from across disciplines, making it an engaging and enriching learning experience for all participants.
