An educational visit was conducted on 7th January 2026 for the students of S8 (ECE), totaling 41 students, to Ahalia Diabetes Hospital as part of the course ECT 414 – Biomedical Engineering.
During the visit, the students gained practical knowledge about ECG (Electrocardiogram) and related biomedical equipment. The working principle of the ECG machine, electrode placement, and its role in diagnosing heart-related conditions were explained in detail.
The technical aspects of biomedical equipment were explained by Mr. Niranjan R, Biomedical Engineer at Ahalia Diabetes Hospital. In addition, Mr. Pramod S, Assistant Nursing Superintendent, provided valuable insights into the clinical applications of ECG and patient care, and clarified the doubts raised by the students.
The students were accompanied by Mr. Vinod Kumar P, Assistant Professor in the Department of ECE, who is handling the course ECT 414 – Biomedical Engineering for S8 ECE. His guidance helped students relate theoretical concepts to real-time medical applications.
The visit was highly informative and beneficial, enhancing the students’ understanding of biomedical engineering and hospital instrumentation.
