A Green Campus Expedition
Where nature becomes a classroom and sustainability comes alive!
On 8 October 2026, the green campus of Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology transformed into an open-air classroom as S3 ECE students embarked on an outdoor learning activity from 2:10 PM to 4:10 PM. Organised as part of the Engineering Ethics and Sustainable Management (UCHUT347) course, the activity supported their microproject on sustainable design, ecological landscaping and green infrastructure. Amidst the whispering trees and rocky landscapes, students explored a campus where sunlight becomes energy, wind turns into power, rainwater finds a home in an artificial lake, and biodiversity flourishes alongside medicinal plants. The campus itself stood as a living example of how engineering and ecology can work hand in hand. Through observation, discussion and exploration, students discovered that sustainability is more than a concept in textbooks—it is a thoughtful way of designing, building and living. The experience encouraged them to connect engineering principles with environmental responsibility and to envision greener solutions for tomorrow.
From classrooms to green spaces, from concepts to connections, the expedition reminded every learner that the best designs are those that live in harmony with nature.
