The ASET Premier League, an exciting intra-college cricket tournament, was successfully organized by the students of Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology. The tournament aimed to foster sportsmanship, teamwork, and a spirit of healthy competition among students and faculty members. One of the highlights of the event was the player selection process, which followed an IPL-style auction held on 12th February 2025, adding a professional and engaging twist to the proceedings. A total of six teams participated in the tournament: Professors XI, Padayappa CC, Kattadi CC, Dalmore, Hurricanes, and Badgers, each showcasing unique strengths and a mix of talent from different departments.
The tournament officially commenced on 21st February 2025, with league-stage matches drawing enthusiastic crowds and vibrant support from across the campus. After weeks of competitive and thrilling matches, the tournament culminated in a grand finale on 25th March 2025, where Professors XI faced off against the spirited Padayappa CC. In an intense and closely fought final, Padayappa CC emerged victorious, claiming the championship title, while Professors XI finished as the deserving runners-up.
In addition to team performances, several individual players stood out for their exceptional skills throughout the tournament. Mr. Jayakrishnan, Assistant Professor was honored as the Most Valuable Player for his consistent all-round performance. Sunil S earned the title of Best Batter for his impressive run-scoring, while Arun A was named Best Bowler for his wicket-taking abilities. Anirudh B was recognized as the Best Fielder, thanks to his agility and game-changing catches. The Emerging Player awards were shared by two promising talents, Athul M and Muhammed Ismail, for their outstanding contributions and potential. The winners’ trophy was formally presented by the principal during the college day celebration.
Overall, the ASET Premier League was a resounding success, combining fun, fierce competition, and a strong sense of community, leaving behind unforgettable memories for everyone involved.
