The Annual Sports Meet for the academic year 2024-25 was successfully organized and conducted on 14th March 2025 at Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology. The event served as a platform to promote physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship among students while also encouraging healthy competition and camaraderie. It featured a variety of track and field events, with enthusiastic participation from students across different academic disciplines and active involvement from faculty members who played key roles in planning and execution.

To ensure the smooth and efficient management of the sports meet, meticulous planning was undertaken well in advance. A crucial meeting was held with the Sports Secretary and the Sports Council, leading to the formation of a dedicated Sports Committee. Additionally, several sub-committees were created, each assigned specific responsibilities such as event coordination, logistics, refreshments, first aid, and officiating. To facilitate event registration, a Google Form was circulated among students, with the deadline for entries set for 12th March 2025. This process ensured a well-organized and structured approach to participant enrollment.

A total of nine athletic events were conducted during the meet, comprising both sprint and long-distance races, as well as throwing events and relay races. The competitions included the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, and 1500m races, along with javelin throw, shot put, discus throw, and the highly anticipated 4x100m relay. Each of these events tested the endurance, strength, speed, and skill of the participants, contributing to a thrilling and competitive atmosphere throughout the day.

The event day commenced early in the morning, with the 1500m race being the first event of the day at 8:30 AM. Following this, the grand inaugural ceremony was held at 9:20 AM, presided over by the esteemed Vice Principal, Dr. Krishna Kumar Kishor. The ceremony was marked by a vibrant march past by students, showcasing discipline and unity, followed by an inspiring oath-taking ceremony led by the Sports Secretary, reinforcing the values of integrity and fair play. The inauguration also included the felicitation of the chief guest, who addressed the participants with motivational words, encouraging them to give their best while upholding the true spirit of sportsmanship.

As per the planned schedule, the competitions resumed at 9:55 AM, with faculty members and student volunteers ensuring seamless coordination and execution of the events. The meet witnessed remarkable performances from participants, with several students showcasing exceptional athletic abilities. The enthusiasm and energy displayed by the competitors added to the excitement of the day. The faculty and organizing team worked diligently to manage each event efficiently, ensuring fair play and smooth progression of the schedule.

The highlight of the event was the recognition of outstanding athletes. Mr. Midhun and Mr. Sibin were honored with the prestigious Best Athlete awards for their remarkable performances and consistent excellence across multiple events. The Overall Championship Trophy was awarded to the best-performing team, while the relay winners were recognized and felicitated by Dr. Prakash, Head of the Mechanical Department.

The Annual Sports Meet 2024-25 concluded on a high note, successfully achieving its objective of fostering a culture of sportsmanship, teamwork, and athletic excellence among students. The event not only provided a competitive platform for students but also served as an opportunity to encourage an active and healthy lifestyle. The winners and participants were rightfully appreciated for their dedication and hard work, and the meet left a lasting impression on everyone involved, setting a high standard for future sports events at the institution.
