A total station (TS) or total station theodolite (TST) is an electronic/optical instrument used for surveying and building construction. It is an electronic transit theodolite integrated with an electronic distance measurement (EDM) to measure both vertical and horizontal angles and the slope distance from the instrument to a particular point, and an on-board computer to collect data and perform triangulation calculations. On 19-12-2016 to 21-12-2016, as part of technical skill development program in Civil Engineering Department, 8th semester students were given an introduction about the equipment through lectures and presentation. This session was handled by Mr. Vivek. K. Viswanath, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, ASET. A total of 51 participants attended the event.
