A Two day workshop was conducted on STAAD Pro & PRIMAVERA Software for eighth semester B.Tech, civil engineering students of Ahalia School of Engineering & Technology on 08/03/17 and 09/03/17. It was a programme funded by the Management of Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology. The program was inaugurated by Dr. Jino John, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering. Resource persons for the workshop were from CADD Center, Palakkad.
Workshop on STAAD Pro was conducted on the first day followed by PRIMAVERA on the second day. It was found to be useful for the students as they are not exposed to the field and relevant software which are used to aid projects in the field. This session helped the students to analyze and design various problems in the field of structural engineering. It also helps to plan and schedule construction activities using the latest software. At the end of the workshop students were able to conduct analysis and design of multi storied buildings independently and plan and schedule construction activities for the same. This will further equip them with necessary hands on experience that will deem crucial in placement activities in the field of civil engineering.
