World Earth Day was celebrated under the joint auspices of Ahalia Engineering College and Ahalia Polytechnic College, Palakkad on 22nd April 2024. The theme of this year’s Earth Day is ‘Globe and Plastics’. Students wrote verses on this topic and prizes were given to the best ones. Then the teachers and students of the college sang nature conservation and earth conservation songs. They also took a pledge to reduce the use of plastic. 77 students participated in Earth Conservation Essay Writing Competition. The first and second place sentences were, save the earth save the future; Let today’s resources build tomorrow (Abhijit Madhav, 3rd year Computer Science Engineering), and the greatest revolution is the Green Revolution because it will save Mother Earth (Kartika, 2nd year Electrical and Electronics Engineering).Prizes were announced for the first and second place students in the verse writing competitions. Ten other contestants were given consolation prize. All students and staff of the college participated in Earth Day celebrations.
