The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of Ahalia school of Engineering and technology in association with the IEEE student branch of Ahalia school of Engineering and technology organized an industrial visit to FCRI Kanjikkode On 24th August 2024. 41 students of final year (2021 – 2025) Electronics and Communication Engineering Department visited the FCRI (Fluid Control Research Institute) Kanjikode, Palakkad. FCRI is a premier institute in Fluids Engineering in South East Asia for R&D on flow products, Testing and Calibration of Valves, flow meters and other measuring instruments as per ISO requirements, Model approval Tests, software for design and selection of flow meters/valves and specialized training programmes and more on the various facilities viz., Water Flow Lab, Air Flow Lab, Oil Flow Laboratory and other auxiliary laboratories. Students reached the industry at 10.00am, the person in-charge gave us a brief introduction about their labs and shown a quick video presentation about FCRI and the activities going in FCRI and taken to various labs like Air flow testing labs, water flow testing labs, sound and vibration testing labs. In the labs students could experience the real testing and calibration facilities. It was a great experience for students. Mrs. Asha Arvind, and Mrs. Gayathri P S AP, ECE Department and Mr. Sathyan P, Senior instructor, ECE Department of Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology accompanied the students.
This Industrial Visit to FCRI was a great source of information for students on testing and its related works. The Visit was successful with the support and guidance of our Principal Dr. P R Suresh, Vice principal Dr. Krishna Kumar Kishor and Head of the department Dr. V. Balamurugan. The visit Coordinated with IEEE Student branch of Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology.
