Energy Conservation ‘Walkathon’

14 December is celebrated as National Energy Conservation Day. In connection with it Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology & Ahalia Centre for Energy and Environment in association with Centre for Environment and Development & Energy Management Centre, Government of Kerala, Trivandrum, organized a walkathon under URJA KIRAN 2018-19 on 17 December 2018 from Government Higher Secondary School, Kozhippara to Ahalia Campus from 3.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m.

 The chief guests of the day were Dr. P. R. Sreemahadevan Pillai, Academic Director, Dr. Krishna Kumar Kishor, Assistant Director, Ahalia Group of Institutions and Smt. Lumin Clara, Headmistress, Government High School, Kozhippara. The gathering included Heads and staff members of various departments of Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology, students of Ahalia School of Pharmacy, students under PMKVY program, students of GHSS Kozhippara and general public.

The programme began with an introduction about ‘Urja Kiran’ by Mr. Roshan Sanu, Asst. Professor, Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology. The presidential address were delivered by Dr. P. R. Sreemahadevan Pillai, and Smt. Lumin Clara.  The gathering took oath on the ceremony to conserve & utilize energy, in which the participants promised to fulfill all the duties and responsibilities bestowed on them. Dr. G. Murugananth, Professor & Head, EEE Department and the Programme Coordinator, addressed the gathering on the importance of energy conservation and proposed the vote of thanks. The rally was flagged off by Smt. Lumin Clara. The participants carried placards displaying messages about Energy conservation awareness and they participated with enthusiasm in the rally. Certificates and refreshment for the participants were distributed at the destination point.
