FDP on “Introduction To Autodesk Fusion 360”

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Ahalia School of Engineering & Technology, in collaboration with BIMIT CAD and BIM Training Services, Ernakulam, organized a Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “INTRODUCTION TO AUTODESK FUSION 360” on 17 October 2022. Mr. Viju Antony, Director, BIMIT – CAD and BIM Training Services, served as the program’s resource person, and the programme was coordinated by Mr. Dheeraj P. and Mr. Anil M., Assistant Professors in the Mechanical Engineering Department. This one-day FDP was attended by the entire Mechanical Engineering Faculty. The resource person emphasized the importance of convergence of design, engineering, and manufacturing into product innovation planning. The basic features of Autodesk Fusion 360 and its functionalities were demonstrated during the program, which is a cloud-based CAD/CAM tool for collaborative product development. The software covers several major areas, such as industrial design, mechanical design, rendering and animation, Computer Aided Emulation (CAE), and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM). The resource person urged the faculty to provide opportunities for students to demonstrate their design skills by solving design challenges posted by industry. He offered his assistance and agreed to hold software bootcamps for mechanical engineering students.
