The inauguration of the IEEE Student Branch of Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology was held on 24 October 2019 in Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology, Ahalia Campus, Palakkad, Kerala, India. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Prof. Nandan S., Chair, Student Activities – IEEE Kerala Section. The event began with the welcome speech by Mr. P. Arjun (Chair, IEEE Student Branch) followed by the inauguration by Dr. P. R. Sreemahadevan Pillai (Principal, Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology). Prof. Nandan spoke about the history of IEEE, who it is meant for and some of the activities that people joining IEEE are involved in.
