IV to Advanced Centre for Atmospheric Radar Centre at CUSAT

An industrial visit was organized and supported by the Dept. of ECE and the IEEE Student Branch for the seventh and fifth semester ECE students to Stratosphere-Troposphere Radar facility in the Advanced Centre for Atmospheric Radar Research (ACARR) at Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kerala on 16/12/22. The visit aimed at the overall development of technical as well as practical knowledge regarding the role of Atmospheric Radar in whether forecasting, mechanism of mono-static and bi-static radar arrangements, its relevant applications in aviation and communication etc. The students also gained in depth knowledge regarding the advanced techniques deployed to monitor the Earth’s atmosphere for forecasting the onset of monsoon. Mr. Rakesh faculty of the research centre gave an insight to students regarding the accuracy and prediction capabilities of the system and explained in detail all the machineries, processes, equipments with in the research centre. Dr. Krishna Kumar Kishor, Vice Principal, Mrs. Vijitha Khan, AP, ECE, Mr. Santhosh, AP, ECE and Mr. Sathyan, lab instructor supported and accompanied the students during the visit.
