KTU Techfest and KETCON 2024

TECHFEST AND KETCON 2024 are annual technical programs meant to encourage the inventions of students in the University. The program is organized by APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, Thiruvananthapuram and is hosted by Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology, Palakkad. The event showcases the technological innovations and advancements made by students in the university and is a big technological event. Talented students have an opportunity to present or display their innovative products and ideas in this program. The programme acts as a platform to engage & interact with the new developments in the technological realm. At KETCON, research contributions by the students, faculty and research scholars from the colleges under APJAKT university will be presented in multiple parallel sessions. In addition to the contributed papers, KETCON will include keynote and invited talks by professional leaders on subjects of current relevance.

Day 1 Inauguration
APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, Thiruvananthapuram Techfest and Kerala Technology Congress held on February 16, 17 and 18 at Ahalia Engineering College, Palakkad, Higher Education Minister Dr. R. Bindu inaugurated the event on 16 February 2024. University Vice Chancellor Dr. Saji Gopinath presided. Over the function. Distribution of Outstanding Researcher award was given by Vice Chancellor. “KTU Researcher of the Year” Award for 2019 and 2022 Dr. Abhilash Suryan, Dr. Adarsh S. were the winners. Vice-Chancellor released the compilation of papers in the Kerala Technical Congress. St. Joseph’s College of Engineering and Technology Pala, UKF College of Engineering and Technology Paripally and Ahalya School of Engineering and Technology Palakkad were felicitated for the highest student participation in the Technology Festival and Technology Congress.The event also honored teachers from Cape College of Engineering, Muttatha, who won the Hydrogen Hackathon. University Syndicate Member Dr. Vinod Kumar Jacob reviewed the Technology Festival and Technology Congress. Syndicate member Dr. Venugopal G., Syndicate Student Representative Ashiq Ibrahimkutty, Dean (Research) Dr. P. R. Shalij and
expressed their greetings.Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology Principal Dr. P. R. Sree Mahadevan Pillai, Assistant Director (Research) of the University. K. Biju also thanked. Former Chief Secretary and Cochin Shipyard Independent Director GG Thomson delivered the keynote address. More than five thousand students from different parts of Kerala participated in the techfest. The three-day long Kerala Science and Technology fair concluded
on Sunday 18th febraury 2024

QUIZ COMPETITON
More than 200 teams registered and participated in the event and 6 teams were selected to the next round Dr. B. Premlet, acted as Quiz master. Prof Vivek Gopi of ME Department Coordinated the whole event and the winners are.

Curtains down on Technological University TechFest
The three-day event concludes at Palakkad Ahalia Engineering College.
The three-day-long TechFest and Kerala Technology Congress of APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, enriched with scientific creativity and innovative ideas of engineering students across the state, concluded on Sunday. Minister for Electricity K Krishnankutty inaugurated the closing ceremony of the Techfest held at Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology, Palakkad. Talking at the event, the minister stated that engineering education should give priority to student’s skill development and practical knowledge. He opined that engineering colleges should be prepared to conduct experiments using green hydrogen, solar energy, thorium, and graphene and undertake research activities to reduce their production cost.In his presidential speech, University Syndicate member Dr. Vinodkumar Jacob stated that students should be able to fill their minds with invention and creativity. University assistant director (research) Dr. K. Biju, Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology principal Dr. P.R. Sreemahadevan Pillai, and student representative of Techfest Organizing Committee Afin Shafi also spoke. Minister K Krishnankutty distributed awards to the winners of various competitions.
