Mechanical Engineering Department Association Day (ARME)

The Mechanical Engineering Department of Ahalia school of Engineering and Technology celebrated its Association Day on 08 October 2024, marking the beginning of various association activities for the current academic year.

Inauguration Ceremony
Following a prayer, Dr. John Alexis, Professor, Mechanical Engineering Department warmly welcomed the chief guest and other dignitaries. The event was inaugurated by Mr. Sooraj Cherukat, DGM Business Development & Sales Hail Stone Innovation, kanjikode in Online mode. On this occasion he shared his life experiences with the students and faculties. He also talked about the various possibilities of mechanical engineers in industrial sectors and current trends in the industries and the ways to achieve their goals in their life. He promised the students in providing internship opportunities and industrial visit in their plant at kanjikode. Mr. Shiju Raman, Association president expressed his gratitude to all the dignitaries and guests by delivering a Vote of Thanks and concluded the inauguration ceremony.
Technical Talk
The inauguration ceremony was followed by a technical talk given by Dr. Neelesh Ashok, Assistant professor, School of Artificial Intelligence, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Coimbatore campus, on the topic “Deep insights in interdisciplinary AI in mechanical engineering domain: Materials Science, Polymers, Nanocomposites and Additive Manufacturing Informatics”. The talk mainly focused on the latest advancements in mechanical engineering with the application of Artificial Intelligence. The session included a live demonstration of a practical scenario on the application of AI, for the students to understand how they can implement AI in their project works.
Hands-on Training Session
Mr. Sajith S, Senior Service technician, Pitpros, Yamaha Service Palakkad along with his colleagues handled a Hands-on Training Session on the topic “Latest Two wheelers, Parts and Functions” in the afternoon session. The session mainly focused on the latest technologies used in the automobiles and their working mechanisms. The session included a live dismantling and assembling of Yamaha R15 V3 engine which encouraged the students to actively participate in the session.
The Association programme concluded at 4:15 PM by delivering the prizes for the winners of technical events conducted during the sessions.
The programme was successfully conducted with the whole support of the faculties and students of Mechanical Engineering Department.
