In 2024 7 day camp was conducted in GVHSS Kanjikode, Kanjikode, Palakkad from 22nd December to 28th December 2024 with coordination of Pudussery gramapanchayath under NSS Unit 311, Ahalia School of Engineering & Technology. National service scheme technical cell unit functions at the college as Unit No 311. The unit is controlled by Mr. Jayakrishnan R, Assistant professor, Department of Civil Engineering as program officer. Day 1
December 22nd
the first day of the NSS camp held at GVHSS Kanjikode. All the volunteers of this year’s batch reached the venue at the allotted time. The preparations for the inauguration ceremony were carried out by the volunteers in the school auditorium under the guidance of the
coordinators and the faculty of the host school. The inauguration began with a Manavageetham sung by the NSS volunteers. The welcome
address was delivered by V S Rishikesh, College Union Chairman. The inauguration ceremony was officially Inaugurated by Sreemathi Praseetha N., President of the Pudussery Grama Panchayat. The audience was also addressed by Ward Member Sreemathi Nisha, Welfare Standing Committee Chairman of the Panchayat Sujith P , HOD of the Civil Department at ASET, Prof. Mathew B V, Physical Education staff of GVHSS Kanjikode Dasan, and Programme Officer Assistant Prof. Jayakrishnan of ASET. The vote of thanks was delivered by Volunteer Secretary Pooja P. Menon, and the inauguration concluded at 6:15 PM. Tea and snacks were provided for the guests and volunteers afterward. Following the ceremony, rooms were allotted to the volunteers. Cleaning duties were carried out before dinner. At 8:15 PM, the ice-breaking session commenced, led by Programme Officer Jayakrishnan and Chairman Rishikesh. Volunteers were engaged in fun activities and games,
which helped set a lively and collaborative tone. Committees were formed, and duties were assigned for the upcoming days of the camp.
Day 2
23/12/24 Monday was the second day of our nss camp. The second day of our NSS camp began early morning with a refreshing wake-up call at 6:00 AM.Then everyone headed to the ground for the morning assembly.We sang the manavageetham, followed by thought of the day, news
reading, and quotes from Quran, Bible, and Bhagavad Gita. Then the group 5 presented the previous day’s camp report and camp paper.Then it was followed by some words of our jayakrishnan sir and two of our VS Pooja P Menon and Naveen K.The assembly set the tone for
the day’s activities.Then after a quick breakfast, we headed to our first session.We attended a fire and safety class conducted by Kerala fire and rescue department, where we learned about the importance of fire safety and prevention. The session also included a demonstration of fire
extinguishers and a discussion on emergency evacuation procedures.Following the safety class, we participated in a school cleaning activity. All teams worked together to clean the classrooms, corridors, and playground, promoting a sense of community and social responsibility. During the
Noon Session our Camp was visited by Mr. Vipin Krishna, District coordinator . In the evening, a talk on “YUVA JAGARAN” by Kerala aids control society was conducted ,where we learned about the causes, symptoms, and prevention of HIV/AIDS. The session aimed to dispel myths
and promote awareness about this critical health issue.The session concluded with feedback from various members of the group regarding the second day’s event. A brief camp evaluation was also conducted to assess the day’s progress and plan for improvement.The day concluded with a
cultural event, where our team showcased their talents through music, dance, and games. The event promoted team bonding and celebrated the diversity of our group.
Day 3
December 23rd marked the successful completion of Day 3 of our NSS camp, a day filled with learning, compassion, and teamwork. The day began with a morning assembly organized by Team Vazha, where Sree Vishnu led us through energizing exercises. Following this, Anuja, from
the documentation committee, presented a detailed report of the previous day. At 9:30 AM, we started our journey to the old age home, reaching at 10:00 AM. Each team contributed wholeheartedly, and the cultural programming committee organized lively art shows to entertain the residents. We celebrated Christmas with them, sharing joy and creating lasting memories.The afternoon was spent resting and reflecting. In the evening, we attended an insightful session on Malinya vimuktha navakeralam, which inspired us to work toward a sustainable future. Dinner
was served at 7:00 PM, followed by cultural activities led by Team Uruk, who kept us engaged and entertained. The day concluded at 9:30 PM, leaving us enriched with experiences and stronger as a team.Day 3 was a meaningful chapter in our NSS journey, filled with moments of
joy and learning.
Day 4
The fourth day of our NSS camp began with an assembly at 5:00 am, led by Team JD. The assembly included a prayer, a news report, and the thought of the day.The primary activity for the day was community cleaning, followed by a visit to the Ayyappan Mala in Kanjikode. The
journey began at 6:00 am, and we reached the temple by 7:00 am. Our volunteers actively participated in various community cleaning tasks around the temple premises. Despite facing some challenges during the journey, the volunteers successfully reached the temple and
completed the assigned activities with enthusiasm and dedication. We returned to the school by 1:00 pm to prepare for the evening celebrations. At 7:00 pm, our NSS seniors joined us at the school for a Christmas celebration. The event started with a cake-cutting ceremony, sponsored by
the seniors. Cultural programs commenced at 8:00 pm, where both seniors and NSS volunteers showcased their talents and actively participated in the performances. Dinner was served at 9:00 pm, following which a feedback session was conducted to reflect on the day’s activities. The day
concluded with a sense of fulfillment and joy, as the volunteers successfully balanced their community service tasks and celebration activities.
Day 5
The fifth day of our NSS camp began with an assembly at 6:00 am, led by Team 3g . The documentation was presented by team Bango pattaya.The assembly included a prayer, a news report, and the thought of the day. At 10 am two teams thattikoot and 3g went to their given spots
to do their tasks while other teams cleaned the school premises and prepared food. At 12:30 after the completion of task everyone had lunch and relaxed upto 3 then continued cleaning the entrance. At 5 pm there where an ktucare session led by Arjun and Adith, Where they taught
about ktu care topics and led us through many games making us feel enthusiatic and tried to create an unity among us. Dinner was served at 8:30pm, after then the day ended with feedback sessions.The day concluded with a sense of togetherness and joy.
Day 6
December 27th marked the successful completion of Day 6 of our NSS camp. The day began with the morning assembly, followed by jogging around the ground and an energizing workout session using tyres. After the assembly, breakfast was served. Following this, a dental camp was
set up at our camp by Ahalia Hospital, providing valuable insights and guidance on oral health. After lunch, we enjoyed a wonderful concert organized by the SPS, during which SPC volunteers and NSS volunteers sang heartily, creating a lively and joyful atmosphere. Later in the day, we held our valedictory function, which was a moment of pride and reflection on the achievements of our camp. The function also featured the exciting launch of our new NSS t-shirt, marking a memorable milestone for our team. Our volunteers then cooked a delicious meal of ghee rice and pepper chicken, which added to the warmth and spirit of the day. We also had our delicious dinner, made by our precious Sriram and his team, who worked hard to create a wonderful meal for all of us. After dinner, we danced our hearts out as everyone joined in, celebrating the spirit of togetherness and joy. Last but not least, we concluded the day with an emotional feedback session where everyone openly shared their positive and negative experiences, fostering a deeper connection among the group. This heartfelt session brought our camp to a meaningful and
reflective end, wrapping up another productive and fulfilling day
Day 7
December 28th marked the last day of our camp. The day started with the assembly, workout sessions, camp paper reading & Completion of drawing activity on the school compound wall. Later the at 8.00 am Breakfast and Tea was served after that by 10.00 am an elaborated feed back session was conducted and each of the volunteers shared their camp experience after that a camp cleaning session was done. Lunch was served by 1.00pm and the camp had dispersed by 3.00pm after Tea.
