PRARAMBH (STUDENT INDUCTION PROGRAMME (SIP) 2026)

Ahalia School of Engineering & Technology organised the Student Induction Programme (SIP) 2026 from 10 to 20 August 2026 for newly admitted students. The programme was designed to facilitate their transition into higher education through a balanced set of academic, personal, social, wellness and career oriented activities. It provided students with opportunities to understand the campus, develop responsible
attitudes, interact with experts and explore the wider dimensions of college life.
INAUGURATION CEREMONY – 10 AUGUST 2026
The SIP 2026 was formally inaugurated on 10 August 2026 at Punarjani Auditorium. The ceremony began with a welcome dance and prayer, followed by the Welcome Address by Dr. Rajeev N, Dean Academics, ASET, and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries. Dr. Suresh P R, Principal, ASET, delivered the Presidential Address, followed by the Felicitation Address by Dr. Krishna Kumar Kishor, Vice Principal, ASET and Executive Director, Ahalia Group. Shri Gireesh V, Additional General Manager, Instrumentation Ltd., Palakkad, was the Chief Guest and delivered the Inaugural Address. The ceremony concluded with the presentation of the memento by the Principal, followed by the Vote of Thanks delivered by Sunder V, SIP Co-coordinator and HoD, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AIML), and the National Anthem.


BRIEF REPORT OF SESSIONS

  1. Mind Magic – Unlocking the Power of the Human Mind
    Mr. Satheesh K, Hypnotist & Mentalist, conducted an engaging session on the functioning and potential of the human mind. The session used interactive elements to help students look at mental processes from a different perspective. It encouraged curiosity, self-awareness and greater understanding of the power of the mind.
  2. Campus Tour – Discover Your New Home Away from Home
    Students were taken around the campus and introduced to important facilities and key locations. The tour helped them become familiar with the physical environment in which they would spend their academic years. It also supported a smoother transition into campus life by making students aware of the resources available to them.
  3. Wings Beyond Limits – Inspiring Courage, Resilience, and Purpose
    Mr. Ganesh Kailas shared his personal journey of overcoming severe physical challenges and rebuilding his life with determination. He encouraged students not to run away from difficulties but to face them with courage and take responsibility for their choices. He also emphasised the importance of respecting and maintaining a healthy relationship with parents.
  4. Innovation Ignited – Think Big. Innovate. Build the Future
    Ms. Vinitha Joseph introduced students to innovation, entrepreneurship, talent, strategy and future oriented thinking. The session also connected these areas with emotional intelligence, mentoring and personal development. Students were encouraged to think creatively and develop the mindset needed to respond to changing opportunities.
  5. Spirit of Service – Building Character Through Social Commitment
    Shri Brahmanayakam Mahadevan highlighted the importance of social service, responsibility and positive engagement with society. His experiences demonstrated how individual action can contribute to the welfare and development of others. The session encouraged students to view service and social commitment as important aspects of responsible citizenship.
  6. Meditation for Inner Peace – Calm Mind, Clear Vision
    The Heartfulness team introduced students to meditation and basic practices for developing inner calm and awareness. The session focused on the role of mental stillness and self-awareness in maintaining personal well-being. Students were encouraged to explore simple practices that could support a more balanced approach to everyday life.
  7. Yoga for Wellness – Balance Body, Mind, and Life
    The Heartfulness team introduced students to yoga and wellness practices aimed at promoting physical and mental balance. The session highlighted the connection between healthy habits, awareness and overall well-being. Students were encouraged to recognise wellness as an ongoing part of a healthy and productive student life.
  8. Drug-Free Campus – Be Aware. Be Responsible. Stay Drug-Free.
    Shri Abdul Bassith A., Grade Excise Preventive Officer, conducted an anti-drug awareness session for the students. The session focused on the dangers of substance abuse, responsible decision-making and the need to protect young people from drug-related risks. It reinforced the message that maintaining a drug free campus requires awareness, personal responsibility and collective action.
  9. Rhythm & Recharge – Dance, Energize, and Celebrate Healthy Living
    Ms. Harsha conducted an energetic Zumba session combining music, dance and physical exercise. The activity demonstrated that fitness can be enjoyable while also contributing to an active lifestyle. Students participated in movement-based activities designed to energise them and encourage regular physical activity.
  10. Universal Human Values – Living with Integrity, Respect, and Responsibility
    Dr. Sunilkumar N from CUSAT conducted sessions on Universal Human Values with a focus on integrity, respect and responsibility. The sessions encouraged students to reflect on the values that influence their thoughts, relationships, decisions and conduct. The discussions connected personal values with the responsibilities expected of students and future professionals.
  11. Life Matters – Recognize, Reach Out, and Respond
    Ms. Meiya Varghese and Ms. Hadheel Hakeem of MEHAC Foundation addressed mental health among young people and the importance of seeking support. The session encouraged students to recognise signs of emotional distress and understand that reaching out for help is an important step. It promoted openness, empathy, timely support and a more responsible approach to mental well-being.
  12. Student Welfare – Scholarships, E-Grantz and Support Services
    The session introduced students to scholarships, E-Grantz and other welfare and financial-support provisions available to eligible students. It helped students understand that institutional and government support mechanisms are available to assist them during their studies. Students were encouraged to remain informed about eligibility, application procedures and the support services relevant to them.
  13. NSS – Service, Responsibility, and Social Commitment
    The NSS session introduced students to the objectives and spirit of voluntary service and community participation. It highlighted the role of students in addressing social needs and developing a sense of responsibility towards society. The session encouraged active participation in service-oriented activities as part of holistic student development.
  14. Navigating College Life – Understanding College Practices, Expectations, and KTU Guidelines
    The session familiarised students with important college practices, expectations and KTU-related academic guidelines. It helped clarify the responsibilities students carry as members of an academic institution and the importance of following established procedures. The orientation was intended to help students adapt confidently to the academic and administrative environment of college.
  15. IEDC – Innovate, Create, and Build the Future
    The IEDC session introduced students to innovation and entrepreneurship and the opportunities available for developing ideas. Students were encouraged to think beyond conventional approaches, identify problems and explore creative solutions. The session highlighted the importance of initiative, innovation and entrepreneurial thinking in shaping future opportunities. Overall, SIP 2026 offered students a broad and purposeful induction experience by bringing together academic orientation, personal development, mental and physical wellness, social responsibility, student welfare, innovation and career awareness. The diverse sessions enabled students to interact with professionals and resource persons from different fields while reflecting on the responsibilities and opportunities associated with college life. The programme thus provided a strong foundation for their academic journey and their development as responsible, healthy and socially aware individuals.
