State Level Inauguration of Skill Delivery Platform Kerala

Additional Skill Acquisition Programme (ASAP) in collaboration with Information and Communication Technology  (ICT) Academy of Kerala and Kerala State IT Infrastructure Limited (KSITIL) is establishing a new skilling platform called Skill Delivery Platform Kerala (SDPK) for enhancing the art-of-e-learning network linking engineering colleges in the state, under the plan to equip students with skills to suit the industry demands. The State level Inauguration of the Skill Delivery Platform Kerala was held on 23/10/2019 at SCT College of Engineering, Trivandrum and was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Kerala, Sri Pinarayi Vijayan through the SDPK platform. The main objective of SDPK is to bridge the employability gaps and to produce a skilled workforce for the growing needs of industry. It will help to create the art-of-e-learning network, linking engineering colleges in the state under KTU through a telepresence video conferencing network. In order to provide industry expertise to students, without diluting the intuitiveness of learning, a blended approach for course delivery is proposed in this model. The three levels of learning that proposed are: (i) self-learning (ii) live learning (iii) assisted learning. KSITIL has done the SDPK platform installation in colleges, while ASAP and ICT Academy of Kerala will jointly provide courses through this platform. The event was attended by Hon’ble Minister of Transport Shri A. K. Saseendran, Hon’ble Legislative Assembly MLA O. Rajagopal, Higher Education Principal Secretary Dr. Usha Titus IAS, KTU Vice Chancellor Ms. Rajasree V. S., ASAP CEO Dr. Veena N. Madhavan IAS, Senior Joint Director of Technical Education Ms. Ciza Thomas and other important personalities from the government and education sector. The inauguration was witnessed by students of different engineering colleges, across Kerala, using the SDPK platform.
