7 Day Camp Report 2023-2024 “Thanima” 25-03-2024 to 31-03-2024
The “Thanima” camp took place in GHS Thenari, Elapully-II, Palakkad in 2024 from March 25 to March 31, 2024. Elapully gramapanchayath, which is under NSS Unit 311 of Ahalia School of Engineering & Technology, coordinated the camp.The college’s Unit No. 311 is the technical cell unit for the national service plan. As program officers, Mr. Jayakrishnan R., assistant professor in the department of civil engineering, and Ms. Sowmya M., assistant professor in the department of computer science, oversee the unit. The unit’s volunteer secretaries are Ms. Arya A of third year ECE and Mr. V S Rishikesh of third year civil engineering.
Day 1
NSS camp “THANIMA” of 7 days, registration started at Elappully panjayath at 5.30pm. The inauguration ceremony was hosted at 6 pm by Karthika.G of S4 EEE with the welcome address by Arya.A, volunteer secretary. Presidential Address and by Dr. P. R. Sreemahadevan Pillai, Principal of Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology. The camp was officially inaugurated by Sri. Sunil Kumar, Vice-President, Elappully panjayath. Special wishes from executive standing committee chairpersons, Shrimathi K. V. Punyakumari, Sri. Saravana Kumar. K,Ward member. Sri. Subramanian Headmaster of GHS Thenari and Sri Ayyappan and also Ms. Bindu Valoor, Academic outreach manager Ahalia group. Inauguration ceremony was ended with a thank you note by Sri. Jayakrishnan R (NSS programme officer, Ahalia engineering college) and Ms. Sowmya M (Asst. NSS programme officer, Ahalia engineering college).Vote of Thanks was led by Babhitha Rosh. B of S4 EEE along with the presence of NSS Volunteer secretaries V.S. Rishikesh and Arya.A and alumni’s. The orientation programme was started and ended by dividing the students into groups by allotting the responsibilities. The dinner was served at 8:30pm. And after the dinner the cultural activities started at 9:00pm. At last lights are off at 10.40pm.
Day 2
The day 2 of our NSS camp ended successfully. The day started with our morning assembly led by Athish. Our energetic Bibin sir made us do several exercises in the morning assembly. The documentation committee led by Babitha presented the report and documentation. We started our survey at 10 am and all our teams were given ward no 13, 14, 15 to complete the survey. All our teams has done their maximum in completing the survey and returned back at 4:30pm. All of us have gained memorable experiences and the day was well spent. In the evening Our Dinesh sir from Electrical department took a training session on the topic “Happiness garden”. The cultural committee led by Abhin organized various fun activities and engaged us. The dinner was served at 8:30pm and light’s off at 10:30pm.
Day 3
The day commenced with our morning assembly under the guidance of Sidharth. Bibin Sir led us through various exercises during the assembly. Gowtham, heading the documentation committee, presented the report and documentation. At 8:30 am, we began our survey, focusing on wards 14, and 15. All teams worked diligently, completing the survey by 4:30 pm. The day was filled with valuable experiences, and we made the most of it. In the evening, Mr. Sravan J sir,asst coordinator of suchitwa mission conducted a session on waste management in Kerala.cultural committee led by Athish organized entertaining activities, keeping us engaged. Dinner was served at 8 pm, followed by lights out at 10:30 pm.
Day 4
The day commenced with our morning assembly under the guidance of Sidharth and Sreya. Bibin Sir led us through various exercises during the assembly which includes zumba dance lead by team nanmamaram. Karthika, heading the documentation committee, presented the report and documentation. At 8:30 am, we began our survey, focusing on ward 15. All teams worked diligently, completing the survey by 1:00 pm. Many of us used our free time to rest. The day was filled with valuable experiences, and we made the most of it. In the evening, Abhimanue from Gec Palakkad and Febin sha from Nss College.Dinner was served at 8 pm. Before our cultural program our district coordinator, Sir shyam visited our camp and addressed the students. Cultural committee led by Sidharth organized entertaining activities, keeping us engaged. The seniors visited our camp and made our cultural activities colorful, followed by lights out at 10:30 pm.
Day 5
The day commenced with our morning assembly under the guidance of Abhin and Karthika. Bibin Sir led us through various exercises during the assembly.Abhin , heading the documentation committee, presented the report and documentation. At 8:30 am, we started our survey, focusing on ward 13,15,17. All teams worked diligently, completing the survey by 2:30 pm. Many of us used our free time to rest. The day was filled with valuable experiences, and we made the most of it. In the evening we visited Nayadi colony to realise and resolve their problems.Dinner was served at 8 pm.Cultural committee led by team nanma maram entertained through their activities, , keeping us engaged. And thr session was completed at 10:45pm.
Day 6
The day commenced with our morning assembly under the guidance of Naveen and Pooja. Abijith led us through various exercises during the assembly.Athish, heading the documentation committee, presented the report and documentation. At 8 am, we started our journey to Elappully neythu gramam mainly focusing on video graphic documentation of their traditional activities. The medical camp started at 10 am and ended at 1:30 pm. The day was filled with valuable experiences, and we made the most of it. In the evening we had our closing ceremony which was attended by our principal, and other dignities Dinner was served at 7:30 pm. And afterwards a campfire led by out vice secretaries Rishikesh and Arya. Then there was a feedback session and activities if the day was marked over at 11:10pm
Day 7
The last day of camp included the cleaning of camp site & wrapping up the days of camp with the feedback session and group photo session
