A three-day workshop titled Web Design Using Python was held on 7, 8, 9 August 2019 in Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology, Ahalia Campus, Palakkad, Kerala, India. The program was jointly organized by the IEEE Student Branch of Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology and ISTE Ahalia Palakkad Chapter. The resource person was Prof. Abhijit V., Dept. of Electronics and Communication Department, Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology. Thirty nine students attended the workshop. The event began with the welcome speech by Mr. Anirudh (Treasurer, IEEE Student Branch) followed by the inauguration by Dr. P. R. Sreemahadevan Pillai (Dean Engineering, University of Calicut and Principal, Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology). The objective of this workshop was to help students understand real-life web development and become a web developer using latest tools and trending technologies. Python is the latest favorite among application as well as web-developers owing to its strong emphasis on readability and efficiency. The biggest advantage with the language is that it is quite easy to learn. The workshop also focused on creativity and entrepreneurship to promote lifelong learning. Some of the topics covered include: different types of websites, purpose of making different types of websites, prerequisites for website development, technologies used in creating websites (front-end, back-end, scripting, etc.), exploring python programming from fundamentals to advanced topics, Django framework, HTML and CSS scripting. The workshop concluded with the valedictory session with felicitations by Dr. V. Balamurugan (Head of Department, Electronics and Communication Engineering) and Dr. Krishna Kumar Kishor (IEEE Student Branch Coordinator and Associate Prof., ECE), and the Vote of Thanks by Ms. Aparna K. (Coordinator, Publicity Committee, IEEE Student Branch).
