Two-Day Seminar on ‘Internet Of Things’

The Department of EEE and Ahalia ISTE Chapter organised a two-day seminar on Internet of Things on 18th and 19th June 2021. The program was attended by both students and faculty members of various institutions. The resource persons for the seminar were Prof. P. Hemalatha, Asst. Professor (CSE), IFET College of Engineering, Vilupuram, Tamil Nadu and Prof. B. Balaji, Asst. Professor (EEE), IFET College of Engineering, Vilupuram, Tamil Nadu. IoT is a recent and promising technology that is creating a huge impact in the world. The main objective of the seminar was to impart a basic knowledge about IoT and its opportunities to the participants and also to give an idea about how IoT can be used for industrial applications. Day 1 was based on the topic ‘Internet of Things: Technologies, Challenges and Opportunities’. In this session, a clear idea about the technologies where IoT can be used and the challenges faced during implementation were discussed. Day 2 was based on the topic ‘IoT-based Data Logging System for Industrial Applications’. In this session a video demonstration of how IoT can be applied for industrial applications was shown. Overall the session was effective for all the participants. The coordinators of the program were Dr. G. Murugananth (HoD, EEE), Ms. Veenaa Raj (AP, EEE) and Ms. Swathy M. V. (AP, EEE). Overall 60 people attended the program.
