Virtual Onam Celebration 2021

Onam is the most important festival of Kerala. It is a harvest festival and is celebrated with joy and enthusiasm all over the state by people of all communities. The festival is celebrated to welcome King Mahabali, whose spirit is said to visit Kerala at the time of Onam. Onam was celebrated at our campus on 18 August 2021 .The celebrations started with setting up an attractive floral decoration (pookkalam) at the entrance. The function was inaugurated by Dr. P. R. Sreemahadevan Pillai, Principal, ASET. During the inaugural address, Dr. P. R. Sreemahadevan Pillai reminded that the sole idea of celebrating the traditional festivals is not just to pass the cultural festival from one generation to the other, but also is an opportunity to strengthen the relations. Dr. Krishna Kumar Kishor, Vice principal gave the felicitation address. He also said that these festivals bring everyone together without cultural disparities. He extended his hope of continuing this kind of celebration in the coming years. Staff members shared their onam memories. The inaugural function was followed by the cultural programs and games organized by the students, online. The entire program was available through Google meet to our students and staff, who were unable to witness the event physically due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Mr. Aswin U. General Secretary, Students Council, proposed the vote of thanks. The event was organized by the Students Council of ASET.
