The Civil Engineering Association, Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology along with the Institution’s Innovation Council conducted a webinar on the topic “Beyond the syllabus” on 26.05.2021. The session was handled by Dr. C.K. Subramania Prasad, Retired Professor and Head of the Civil Engineering Department, NSS College of Engineering, Palakkad. In the session, he discussed about the importance of thinking beyond the syllabus which he described as the process of adding value to education. He also emphasised the importance of taking part in co-curricular activities like paper presentations, group discussions, journal publications etc. He also urged the students to keep adding to their vocabulary by listening to news channels and referring the dictionary. He also advised the students to participate in extra curricular activities. The speaker also said that entrepreneurship and engineering are the two buzz words in any type of learning. The idea of entrepreneurship is to try and never give up and to think out of the box. The session was highly interactive and inspiring. A total of 80 participants attended the event.
