A total station (TS) or total station theodolite (TST) is an electronic/optical instrument used for surveying and building construction. It is an electronic transit theodolite integrated with an electronic distance measurement (EDM) to measure both vertical and horizontal angles and the slope distance from the instrument to a particular point, and an on-board computer to collect data and perform triangulation calculations. On 23 October 2019, as part of the Civil Engineering Department association inauguration activities, students were given an introduction about the equipment through lecture. They also gave field training to the students. It was supported by the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC) of ASET.
