Central Bureau of Communication, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology celebrated Bharatiya Bhasha Utsav with the collaboration of The observance, part of the 75-day Bharatiya Bhasha Utsav from September 28, began with a gathering and ended with an essay competition. The ceremony was held at the Palakkad District Public Library by the famous writer Prof. P. A. Vasudevan inaugurated. In the opening speech, the importance of learning the mother tongue and emotional attachment to it was discussed in detail. Dr. P. R Sreemahadevan Pillai , Director Ahalia Group Educational Institutions presided over the function. Bindu Valoor, Preeja V, Shafiq S., Radhakrishnan, B. Tech. First year students Atul, Naveen and Abhiram coordinated the program. More than 100 students and parents from various educational institutions of the district participated. Essay competition was then held on the theme “Sustainable Development – Contemporary Relevance of Gandhiji”. Cash awards being awarded to students who stand first, second and third in the essay competition.
