Engineer’s Day Celebration 2021

National Engineers Day is celebrated every year on 15 September to commemorate one of India’s greatest engineers, Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya. ASET realizes that the upcoming engineers i.e. B. Tech students should look up to Engineers like him and follow his footsteps. The Engineers Day celebration was inaugurated by Er. G. K. Pillai. He was the Former Managing Director & CEO, Walchandnagar Industries Ltd. Pune, Former Chairman & Managing Director, Heavy Engineering Corporation Ltd., Ranchi and Former Chairman and Managing Director, HMT Machine Tools Ltd, Bangalore. He is one of the finest engineers and turnaround specialists of India. The guest of honour shared his experience with the students and staff. He said engineers are the backbones of all technical and infrastructural advancement in the world and it’s them who are going to better the future for the humanity. It’s a great responsibility, so along with technical skills; engineers should nurture ethics & values too. Dr. Balamurugan, HoD, ECE offered the welcome address. Dr. P. R. Sreemahadevan Pillai, Principal, ASET presided over the event and gave a thought provoking address. Prof. Kripa K. M., HoD, CE presented the biographical sketch of Sir. M. Visvesvaraya. Engineer’s oath was given by Prof. Prakash D, HoD, ME and Mr. Akshay K. S., Chairman, College Students Council and Ms. Kavya Mukundan, Vice-Chairman, College Students Council took the oath on behalf of all students. Dr. Murugananth G., HoD, EEE introduced the guest of honour to the participants. Dr. Krishna Kumar Kishor, Vice Principal, ASET gave a wonderful felicitation address. The official vote of thanks was offered by Dr. S. Gunasekaran, HoD, CSE.
