Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme

The Entrepreneurship Development Club (EDC) at the Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology, recognized by Kerala Startup Mission as an IEDC, works to spread the message of innovation, incubation and entrepreneurship amongst the students. On 7th April 2017, the EDC conducted a one-day Entrepreneurship Awareness programme with the objective of promoting entrepreneurship among the youth and to nurture a passion for self-employment. The event was attended by 45 students and the coordinators of the EDC. The speaker for the event was Mr. Mohammed Shibin from Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India [EDII]. The programme was divided into two sessions. The first session was oriented towards setting up of enterprises that cater to the needs of the public as well as the industries in the region. The second session was activity based, where the students were divided into 9 groups. At the end of the session each group was asked to present their start-up ideas and business plan, and the best business plan was awarded as a token of encouragement.

Session helped to get oriented towards setting up of enterprises which will provide them creativity, freedom and ability to generate wealth. This enabled them to cater the need of public as well industries requirement in this region. The session was interactive helping them to think in interdisciplinary domains.

The student groups were given tasks to present their startup ideas and business plan .The presentations were evaluated and the best business plan was awarded as a token of encouragement The vote of Thanks was given by Mr. Roshan Sanu, AP/CSE ,ASET.
