A field visit to the 1 MW Solar Plant in Ahalia Campus was organized by the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (ASET–IEDC) in association with Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and IEEE Student Branch of Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology on 17th February 2021 from 10.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. 73 students and 7 faculty members from various departments participated in the program (7 IEEE members). The students were taken in two batches and the installation process of the plant was explained by the officials from Ahalia Alternate Energy Pvt. Ltd. The topics covered include: basics of solar panels, components used, PV modules, connections to inverter and transformer, cabling, earthing and lightning protection. Overall, the students enjoyed the visit and it was an opportunity for them to learn the various aspects of a solar plant in a detailed manner.
