The inauguration of the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society (APS) Student Branch Chapter of Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology was held on 22 November 2019 in Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology, Ahalia Campus, Palakkad, Kerala, India. The function was attended by 47 students and faculty (17 IEEE members). The Chief Guest for the occasion was Dr. Chinmoy Saha (Chair – IEEE APS Kerala Section and Associate Prof., Department of Avionics, IIST). He was accompanied by Prof. Anu Mohamad (Joint Secretary – IEEE APS Kerala Section and Asst. Prof. GEC Barton Hill). The event began with the welcome speech by Mr. P. Arjun (Chair, IEEE APS Student Branch Chapter) followed by the presidential address by Dr. P. R. Sreemahadevan Pillai (Principal, Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology). In his inaugural address Dr. Chinmoy talked about the history of the IEEE APS Kerala Chapter and the vibrancy of the IEEE student members in Kerala. Prof. Anu also spoke about some of his reasons for joining the AP Society and some of the activities being conducted at Barton Hill, Trivandrum. Following his talk, Dr. Chinmoy handed over the official letter of establishment of the IEEE APS SBC to our Principal. He also distributed certificates to the coordinators and the winners of the quiz competition. The inauguration ceremony concluded with felicitations by Dr. Krishna Kumar Kishor (IEEE APS Student Branch Chapter Counsellor and Associate Prof., ECE), and the Vote of Thanks by Ms. Ushmala B. (Member, IEEE Student Branch).
