As part of the IEEE APS inauguration function, on 22 November 2019, Dr. Chinmoy Saha (Chair – IEEE APS Kerala Section and Associate Prof., Department of Avionics, IIST) delivered a technical talk on the topic “An Interactive Session on Antennas: Opportunities for UG and PG Students”. The talk introduced the audience to some basic antennas and also posed the five main challenges an antenna designer faces. Some of these include bandwidth, reconfigurability and antennas working at THz frequencies. Dr. Chinmoy also briefly talked about IIST at Trivandrum, the facilities available, the work being done by his graduate students and the opening for graduate students.
